Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Hong KongThe house is a little out of the way to find but well worth it. You have a whole house and facilities to yourself. Shared kitchen/ sitting room downstairs and your own very comfortable room upstairs (good aircon!). There are four or five bedrooms - I was the only person in the house on the night I stayed. There’s a washing machine, excellent bean to cup coffee machine, fridge, microwave… everything you need. Large parking area 20m from the house if you are driving The host was exceptional- friendly, extremely helpful and caring. I will stay here again.

The two owners we interacted with were incredibly friendly and helpful! If starting a trek/cycle around the Taroko Gorge this is a great place to stay before your adventure. Coffee, water and tasty little breakfast were provided.

CanadaEverything was fine. The language was bit of a barrier but we managed with the help of google translate and the hosts did their best to communicate.
The best part of the stay turned out to be chatting with other interesting guests in the common room on the main floor. Very convivial atmosphere that made for a really nice time.

United StatesNothing bad to say!
What a wonderful place to spend a few days, I love this style of guesthouse. Hao and Lily are kind, caring hosts who treated us like family. We were staying here when the recent earthquake hit and Hao took personal interest in our safety and comfort after it happened. Expect true warmth and hospitality when you visit. The space is comfortable and the location is great too, in a quiet little neighborhood of Fushi village just down the road from the entrance to Taroko NP. I would definitely return!

United KingdomSometimes the dogs in the village can be alarming (but not unsafe, i think)
Lily and her son Hao were extremely welcoming, and seemingly couldn't do enough to facilitate our stay, including driving us into town for dinner (though there are plenty of dinner options within walking distance) and to the 7-11 to pick up a picnic for our hike. Having access to a washing machine was really useful during our two week trip. Everything else about the stay was comfortable and clean, and the chat with other guests was nice. There is a bus stop very nearby with a good selection of buses going into the gorge. You can use ez card in the buses. Best to top up before you get to xincheng.

United StatesDon’t expect too much. It’s a standard Taiwanese home converted into guest home. Overall, nice good stay. A little pricey for the place but not many options available.
Very friendly and helpful host. Conveniently located near entrance to Taroko National Park (the reason for our stay). Clean facilities. Comfortable bed. It’s a home converted into guesthouse. You stay in one of the bedrooms. Reminded me of my cousin’s home in Vietnam :) Plastic doors. Quiet area in local village. Parking available nearby. Daily breakfast brought to you. Quaint little place. Kitchen sink, oven, dishes with coffee/tea available downstairs. No shoes inside home, wear the provided sandals :). Mom and son are super nice.

SingaporeWe had a lovely stay at the guesthouse, which was clean and comfortable. The shared living room has coffee and tea-making facilities and fruits. Hao and his mum, Lily, are warm, friendly and helpful hosts. They provided recommendations and bus schedule information regarding places of interest in the Taroko Gorge. Hao picked us up from the train station, helped us to make dinner reservations, drove us into town for dinner and picked us up after dinner. Hao and Lily bought breakfast based on items that we select from a menu. The breakfasts we had on both days were delicious. The guesthouse is conveniently located just a few bus stops away from the Taroko Gorge Visitor Centre and entrance to the Shakadang Trail.

United KingdomVery clean comfortable room. Tea, coffee and snacks provided. The boss is very friendly and helpful recommending good places to eat. We needed to leave very early in the morning and they gave us the option of helping us get food to take with us that evening or a small refund of money so we could buy breakfast ourselves the next day.

Superb friendly and dependable host! They have been helpful during my stay. I love their hospitality and the surroundings are quaint and serene just how I like it. Rooms are clean with well equipped facilities. It is quite a distance away from Xincheng Station, so suggest if you are a solo traveller like me to pack some food with you from the family mart before you set your way to the Minsu. They are located near Kele bus stop, which bus 302 will bring you there or you can always arrange with the host to see if they are available to pick you up! 7-11 is approx 15mins walk away. Taroko tourist information and entry to some light hearted walks/treks is approx 20mins walk from Minsu.

The European-style breakfast (hamburger, juice, pancakes) was excellent. Easy access by bus or on foot (25 minutes) to Taroko National Park. The owner can also arrange bike rental.
