Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Amazing location, far from hustle bustle, private beach in front. No One is h(a)unting you..! Owners and staff are helpful, kind and honest. Resort is natural, nice restaurant as well., we loved Kingfish and fresh Mango juice ! Sandrine manages various trips - coral snorkeling, swimming with turtles, dolphin boat trip, Jozani forest excursion.. Swimming and snorcheling is possible right from beach, but take tide into account, there is helpful chart on web, no problem..

United StatesNot a problem for us but the lodges don’t have air conditioning so just keep that in mind!
Such a neat paradise! Coco Reef was a perfect place for the first part of our honeymoon. The whole staff was very friendly, conversational and accommodating. Sandrine even made sure we had breakfast for our airport trip in the morning! The food was delicious at every meal! The lodges were really neat, authentic places to stay and we absolutely loved that we could walk right outside our door to the beach. Great place and great people. Just what we were hoping for!

TurkeyEverything about this place was wonderful. It felt like a hidden paradise, surrounded by lush greenery, almost like a jungle. The beach was peaceful and serene, with only a few people around, making it the perfect escape. The staff were absolutely amazing—always kind, attentive, and incredibly helpful. When I wasn’t feeling well, they provided medicine, checked in on me, and made sure I was comfortable. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel truly welcome. We had so much fun during our stay. We were eager to see tropical animals, and they helped us spot a bushbaby. Colorful tropical birds fluttered around our bungalow, adding to the magical atmosphere. The food was delicious, and we deeply appreciated both the place and the people. We spent about ten days here for our honeymoon, and it felt like being part of a warm, close-knit community. It was an unforgettable experience, and we would love to return.

United KingdomA minor thing: it would have been nice to have a drinks menu to know what is available. Bring earplugs for sleeping: you can sometimes hear music from other nearby properties at night (of course not the owners fault!).
Lovely rustic wooden & palm leaf bungalow overlooking greenery in the garden, the space was huge and we were comfortable and happy in our space. The beach was quiet and peaceful with sun chairs and hammocks, and the sea swimmable at high tide. Despite the name, there is very little reef outside the property, however, you can find some fish and interesting sea creatures snorkeling if you swim out. The staff were friendly and made sure we enjoyed our stay. Some of the local dishes we tried of the menu were very tasty, such as the cassava, coconut and fish pot.

The staff is very attentive and helpful, the breakfast is delicious but also you can order very tasty local food. Sandrine helped us to organize transfer and to rent scooter. Merci!

South AfricaIt's hard to say what I didn't like but I would have liked for the chicken not to wake me up at 4 in the morning. Taking into consideration it's a chicken. haha.

GermanyThere was nothing to complain about. I would have liked to see a bushbaby because I could hear some at times, but I had not even considered such an encounter possible anyway before I arrived and was told that they might come around, and certainly it is a matter of luck, so maybe next time.
The owner, Sandrine, is a very attentive host, always seeking to fulfill her guests' wishes, and the complete staff is very friendly and helpful. They create an enjoyable atmosphere that is simply unique. I also liked the delicious food, the local dishes as well as the international ones, particularly the fresh baobab juice, and I am thankful that it could even be arranged for me to take some of it home. Merci beaucoup. Asante sana.

GermanyNothing. I got what i hoped for!
- the Owners and the staff! So respectful, helpful and personal. - the vegeterian dishes i had each night-always just trusted the chef. Never failed!😊 They created a little paradise. The place is simple but still feels so luxurious. The owners/staff brought us guests to a small concert of a different hotel one night - and even made me in my shy-era dance! 100% recommended to ho there!😊

SloveniaIt is ubiquitous in Zanzibar, but still: for a brief period, we were without electricity and running water.
Waking up having a breathtaking view of the azure sea from private lodge - does not get much better than that! Add french-swahili kitchen, extremely attentive staff, dolphins and you get best of in Zanzibar. Discovery of the week, so glad we had chance to stay there!

SloveniaOur stay was too short...
We fell in love in this place as soon as we walk in. Landlords and staff will help you with everything and make you feel at home. Arhitecture and surroundings are so authentic that makes you think you live in a story. Food is superb, freshly prepared by local chef. Also 2 Masai will answer all your questions and teach you a few words in Swahili if you want.
