Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The experience at Dual Mountain Lodge was excellent. The lodge is clean, the furniture functional, the rooms have air conditioning and views of Kilimanjaro. The restaurant serves excellent meals, really tasty, freshly prepared. The staff were very professional and friendly and catered for my needs. I would highly recommend it!

KenyaThe road section to the property's gate (about 300 mtrs) is a bit slippery when it has rained and cars with low clearance might skid slightly. But in case you get stuck you can call the hotel to come and rescue you. It's adventurous. Not so bad.
The view of Mt Kilimanjaro in the morning, the welcoming staff esp' Baraka. The tranquil environment, the pool and the garden. The food being self service and plenty in portion. A very lovely stay in Moshi.. Definitely my stay now in Moshi

TanzaniaDidn't like the fact that when I had booked 5 rooms the hotel staff kept calling me to inform I can only have 3 rooms and they will cancel my other 2 rooms because they wanted to sell them in much higher price cause of kilimanjaro marathon.

PolandProblems with credit card payment - afternoon staff had not been trained on how to use CC terminal, thus causing a lot of confusion. Very expensive airport transfer ($50 one way, which is a lot since we got there from the airport for $20...). Dramatically bad access road. Food not great, especially overcoocked rice - albeit prices were reasonable.
Quiet place in a nice surroundings; large, comfy bed and large balcony with a nice view. We were allowed to check out later than specified, without extra charge. Very polite staff.

United KingdomThe price of the restaurant and bar was pretty outrageous in my opinion, although I am a Tanzanian resident who knows how much everything should cost and who is only used to paying in Shillings. $40 for a meal which you could've got in town for 10, $45 for a bottle of wine which you know is only $12 in the supermarket. I guess this is how most restaurants make most of their money...
The hotel is a very good standard for Tanzania and East Africa. Very clean, well configured, with good fixtures and fittings etc. The owner has not scrimped and saved and has made sure that guests are comfortable with hot water and good showers etc. The hotel bar

United Arab EmiratesGreat place in a beautiful environment. Barak and Haika went above and beyond to help us and they organised a trip to the Materuni Waterfalls and the coffe plantation. A trip not to miss if you happen here! The lunch at the coffee plantation was also great. They were so kind to organise breakfast for us even when we had to leave earlier on the last day. Food is great and cooked by the chef!

IrelandThere was no comfortable seating in bar restaurant area and no lobby to rest in the evenings. Even if there was a few couches in bar area it would be acceptable. Poor seating facilities in your room if you did not have a balcony. Restaurant area was open to elements on three sides and was quite cool in the winter evenings and I had to wear a thick pullover or jacket. It stated on our booking that we had a balcony but this wasn't the case when we arrived. There was no hot water in shower and after persistent complaints I was able to shower in a different room which had immersion heating. Access road was potholed and prone to flooding after rain and very difficult to access for taxi driver. Note that Mweka Gate is about 5km away but I was informed that you can only enter park through this gate, even for a short walk, provided you pay $80 park fees. This wasnt the information I was given by staff at hotel.
Comfortable beds in double room. Very quiet. Surrounded by green vegetation and coffee plantation. Nice view of Kilmanjaro when it wasn't covered in cloud which during our stay was unfortunately most of the time. Materuni Waterfall is about 16km away or 30mins by taxi and this can be arranged from hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful but under resourced.

South AfricaSupper portion size too big and beef soup a bit salty. Food was good though.
Children liked the pool, the comfortable rooms and the breakfast. Place is inside a coffee farm, 700m from the tar road. The road is very good from Moshi all the way to Mweka Gate. Made it to Mweka Gate in an old RAV4.

KenyaOn the first day it was a bit muddy and the small road leading up to the hotel from the termac was abit messy but obviously this is beyond the hotels control.
The place is great with very friendly and accommodative staff. Its always lovely when hotel staff treat each guest to their unique needs. The chef made us some very good dinner and breakfast. On the second day of our stay, a small group hired the place for a party, but the staff informed us that it will end at exactly 10pm and it did.

Staff at the hotel. Baraka gave me a guided walking tour to Mweka Gate. Chefs would create personalized meals for me. Facility was clean everywhere. Views around the property were awesome. Get to view Kilimanjaro when it is not hiding behind the clouds. Staff in general was very nice. Since the property is at 4500 ft, it helped me acclimatize a bit before start of Kilimanjaro Trek..

FranceThe hotel is really nice, located among a coffee plantation surrounded by trees and green areas, it is a very peaceful place to spend a couple days. The swimming pool is also really nice with beds though we could not swim because it was raining too much. The rooms are very clean and the bed was so large and comfy! The restaurant is on the rooftop with an amazing view over coffee plantation. The staff arranged a shuttle for us from the airport which was very convenient. I would add that the staff was really kind as they let us have a late checkout. I really appreciated this place and will recommend it.
