Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomA little out of the way and had to arrange things around the shuttle, however this was very reliable which made it easy.
The setting and views were wonderful. Very relaxed atmosphere, Glenn couldn't do enough to help with his shuttle rides. Would definitely recommend

United KingdomLovely views, but the location was a long way from Port Elizabeth. There was a shuttle bus with a very helpful driver who frequently took you into the Port. It was great for a 3 night stay.

United KingdomJust a couple of things. The jacuzzi has not been available at any of my visits, as it is still broken. They need parasols at the pool, because it gets very hot on the Sun loungers. More importantly, the rooms have no information about what to do in a medical emergency/who to contact and how. If you are visiting from abroad and have a medical emergency at night (as I did) you have no way of getting help. Fortunately my husband had his vehicle and was able to get an ambulance to me, while my sister looked after me, and after a few hours in hospital, I was able to return to the hotel. I have highlighted this to the hotel management and they are addressing this as a matter of urgency.
It’s on the top of a hill. Views are spectacular. This is the 5th time I’ve been there and will definitely be going again. Rooms are nice and comfortable. The hotel itself is a nice, intimate sized hotel, not overly full of people, so it feels like a home from home. The food is delicious.

United StatesSome areas of the property and my bathroom could use updating. No closets and very limited space to hang and store things.
The shuttle was very helpful to go back and forth to the town area. The staff was kind. The views were incredible. The property was in good condition and kept clean, but I imagined it was even better years ago. The continental breakfast included was just right to start the day. The food overall was good for what it was.

United KingdomIt would have been nice to have some contact numbers included within the information pack or on the wall of the room, particularly some medical emergency numbers. It would also have been nice if there were some sun shades around the pool.
The hotel was very clean, the bed (we stayed in a Queen Suite) was spacious and comfortable. All the staff were excellent both friendly and efficient. The food was first rate with portions being very generous you wouldn’t go hungry.

United KingdomVery few facilities: nowhere to read, play cards or scrabble. Room TV had no cable and no subscriptions, even staff could not find any channels. Sanitary ware in my suite was like a Victorian workhouse, urgently needs modernising. Also disliked their penny-pinching approach such as kettle in suite but no coffee or milk, plastic spoons so small I could not stir my tea.
Wonderful location, beautiful views, cooling breeze Breakfast - good selections and well cooked. Service very slow.

DenmarkQuite far and steep way from town - so you'll need a car or be willing to pay a taxi if you want to have dinner or drinks in town at night. Not a problem for us - just a fact to be aware of.
Very nice room with a seaview. Great (and important) shuttle to and from town several times a day. Fine little pool and play area including table tennis. OK basic breakfast (but anything extra is rather expensive).

CanadaMy room was not cleaned for my second night stay. The mattress is not comfortable it is too firm. Also,, the breakfast portions were very small and limited options for what is included in rate especially for those who don’t eat eggs.
This location is very secluded up in the hills. The very is breathtaking!!! Very nice for a private getaway. The chef is very good for lunch and dinner. The staff is very friendly. Very much appreciated the shuttle service to and from Port Elizabeth

Saint Vincent & GrenadinesThe food was just ok, not that great. We needed an early breakfast to make our 9am dives and the dining room was generally not ready by 8am but the staff did their best to get us setup and food before we had to catch the Taxi to town. The room had no accommodations for hanging or storing clothes.
The location was beautiful but far from the main part of town. The room was of nice size and the balcony was nice too, other than the mosquitos. It was nice to have the fridge and the same.

United KingdomOnly improvement point would be the sink/water from the tap in the bathroom. Not sure if it was a drainage issue or just the water but gave the bathroom a little bit of a funny smell.
A mistake was made with the booking so we got a free upgrade to a King room which was out of this world from the bed to the size of the room let alone the balcony & the view we had looking out over the sea.

BahrainPaid and booked for sea view which then wasn’t available. Was offered a king room without sea view. Asked for the price difference between rooms, offered 40 USD for 3 night but told to change rooms for last 2 for seavjew. The annoying thing was we had to stay in the hotel as we had to check out our room at 2pm and check in to new room so kindve took the whole day. Worth the move and sea view was stunning. Be aware the total price given at checkout dosent include the tax and vat charge so again for 5 night was an additional 200usd than what booking quoting in final price. Up a very steep hill so would be difficult to walk to and from hotel but there is transfer bus.
Lovely spacious rooms, food in the evening was good. Beautiful views.

United KingdomAlthough the location is very tranquil it is to far to walk to the main town of Port Elizabeth where most things take place but, the shuttle bus service provided by the hotel is always on hand to take you to the town and other locations.
We liked that there was a resaurant, bar and swimiming pool on site. The staff are amazing, they all went above and beyond their duties to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible. The shuttle bus is regular and there are always local taxis on hand if you wish to stay out late.
