Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomRoom had no window which was only highlighted after I had booked it. First night the shower broke. Second night the toilet blocked. Third night got moved to another room as toilet couldn’t be fixed, this room wasn’t much better.

United KingdomEverything.
Location great for beer guzzlers. Breakfast was passable ( cold pastries and French toast) with not many choices compared to another hotel we stayed at. Not many option for vegetarian. Mr Dhu was amiable but rest of staff seems to be just going through the motions. Don’t book the windowless room. It was dismal.

Hong KongThe shower is too weak. You won't enjoy taking a shower after a day's travel. If you adjust it a bit, water becomes too hot.

AustraliaThe room pictured on booking.com had big windows. The room we got had a small window which opened onto a concrete wall less than a metre away. That seemed like false advertising to us
The best thing was the staff who were so polite, friendly and went out of their way to help us with travel information and bookings. They really cared!

IndiaDidn't get to have dinner at the Sky Bar.
La Mejor is situated very well on the Beer Street and was just a couple of steps away from the night life. This was my second stay at La Mejor after an year and the hospitality offered by the hotel was great. Only this is that the Sky Bar didn't seem operational and we weren't able to have dinner there. The breakfast had a variety of dishes and the staff was more than happy to make different variety of dishes in quick time.

SingaporeIt’s a three star hotel and they sell it as four stars. Very old facilities. Smells old. Price is not according to the service. I think I hated the idea that I booked a four star hotel and stayed on a three and the manager said it was just for marketing purposes.
Location is ok. Not perfect. Breakfast is good.

ChinaThe hotel located in the centre of the pub street, which means it is very crowded during the holiday. You even cannot find a way to walk. Be careful with an old man right next to the hotel, usually in a blue T. He kicked me deliberately at the first day of my stay, which gave me very very bad impression of the city but I have to see him every day from afternoon to night. I think the hotel should warn every guest about this dangerous and rude old man who could completely destroy the trip.
The room is clean. The staffs are polite.

SingaporeIssuing more than one key for two people was a hassle. We eventually got one but it was hard work. When two of you are out and about you need two keys. I didn’t like the fact that as we checked out they ran to the room and checked, then asked us where the laundry bag was, which we hadn’t taken and was a mistake on their behalf. The bags are the cheap disposable type not the cotton ones you find in 5 star resorts. Check in was hard work, the card machine would not accept my visa _ it worked everywhere else including their own sky bar. This took ages, and again having had the booking for months they could have pre charged the card. More trust and 4/5 star behaviour needed.
Room was internal and comfortable, almost identical to another hotel we stayed in round the corner for 3 days but perhaps more worn. Location is on a very busy street - Beer Street and while we loved this, its hard to get a taxi in there in the evening.

United KingdomWe slept really poorly due to noise of neighbourhood (traffic and music), our neighbours in the hotel and rodents scratching and scurrying in the ceiling.
Staff were very helpful and friendly, even packed us up a breakfast to take with us on our early flight the next day. Location good if you want to be in the middle of the action. Decor in the communal areas was great. Sky bar has great cocktails and amazing views of the city. Room basic but clean.

SpainIt is located in the beer street, so super noisy and hard to reach by transport. To avoid some of the noise, the rooms have no window, or the window is facing a wall... They overdo the service, with staff being too pushy all the time. Supposedly we were "upgraded" to a better room, but they room they took us to was extremely smelly, then they offered to change us again but the new room was similar.
central location, ok breakfast, nice rooftop.
