In this hotel my money was stolen and it was someone from the staff. The hotel has some things to mention (old, lack of maintenance and different room from the one I booked) but the worst thing that can happen to you is being ROBBED, it is not reliable!!! How was it?: I arrived late at night and the air conditioning of my room wanst working well. The doorman and receptionist went several times to check it. After 1/2 hour , tired and with no solution, I asked for a fan . They told me to wait at the reception and i stayed there for.about 10.minutes while they were supposed to be looking for a fan. It's true that I should have been more suspicious and havent  left my things in the room: but it was midnight and I was tired and at that moment I didn't think about my money (it was in my purse which was  inside my funny bug in the room- so, it means they opened my personal.things too)- when they were supposed to solve the air conditioner problem. The next morning, as soon as realized  260 dollars  were missing,  I inmediatly  reported to the  hostess of the hotel.  After that, it took them  26 HOURS (26 hours just to.check 40.mintues in.the camera wether someone went into my room without me)  to tell me that they would not return the money to me  because they didn't see anything on the cameras (another LIE,  because they DID go to my room without me) and of course I was not able to.see what it was recorded in the cameras as they didnt show it to me, just 5 seconds of me being in the lobby alone, waiting for them (for a "fan"). After  the, the manager showed up, in a very bad mood, and told me that if I didn't take care of my things, it wasn't her or the hotel's problem. She never mentioned anything else about the cameras and she wasnt  worried about not having honest staff working there, as she acted as nothing had happened and as if it was my fault.

Can be noisy at times as it's in the corner of a T-junction. Air-conditioning remote was not working so we were stuck on 16 degrees all night.

They are friendly staff. Location is good. Walking distance to the lake and other amenities. You can rent scooter from the hotel. Water pressure was superb. The best I've experienced. Breakfast was okay.

Ask the staff or the ex-staff of the hotel to extend one more night 2 months in advance before the arrival date. Unfortunately, the change is "altered" by others without notice, as told by the receptionist. Hence, we have moved out and searched for another hotel on short notice. Bad experience as being told this is non their responsibility as the ex-staff already left the company.

Communication with the staff was not easy because the weren't talking to each others. Also English level could be better for a hotel in the centre of Hanoi. The room was not clean: we killed a coach roach that was walking on our backpack. Doors were old with lots of drafts were insect could enter. Beds not comfortable and not clean.

Location very close to central Lake and old city streets. Good laundry service. Breakfast included with a lot choice, decent food. Staff helpful.

Location of our room (8th floor) is not that nice. First night, noises of rats scurrying around from the floor above throughout the night, making it difficult to sleep and we wondered why. Next morning we found out the kitchen was directly above our room. Informed front desk and the staff were apologetic and offered to change room for us. When we said we have too many stuff to move, they got housekeeping to check and they made sure to clear any remaining food waste. The remaining two nights were ok. Also, the family room with 3 beds is nothing like in the photos on the website. Nonetheless, all said, think location wise and staff attentiveness, this hotel can still be recommended. Just make sure you don't end up under the kitchen. 😀

My review is mixed. Staff were very nice, friendly and accommodating.

Dated rooms. No lift access to upper rooms or breakfast area Dismal breakfast buffet I had room below kitchen which was very noisy from very early in the morning also could hear rats in the walls and ceiling during the night. I reported the rats to staff and they said they would look into it just saying it was because of the kitchen, not sure if they meant they knew they have rats in their kitchen. Dishonest management/staff. Booked 3 rooms for my family and I. On arrival we were asked to pay upfront for the stay which we did. Very shortly after I found that the amount had also been taken out of my account via booking.com. I notified staff and it was confirmed that the accommodation had been paid twice. The concierge and reception staff assured me that a refund had been organised through booking.com. Before leaving I checked again and they reconfirmed the refund was organised. 2 weeks after getting home still no refund. I followed up again with Lake View Hotel and booking.com. Lake View notified me that they had now organised an international transfer to refund the money and provided a transfer number which confirms they didn't organise the refund the first time. They said the transfer could take 10-30 business days. Now over 40 business days later still no refund

One of our rooms (we booked three) had no windows at all and not good ventilation. The bathroom was so hot and didn't smell good. It was indicated that there is a king/queen bed and single bed for the family room. But the single bed is actually a folding cot, which in our case, was broken. There were other minor concerns (like the sockets didn't work, non functional eCard for the aircon, busted bulb) which management quickly addressed.

Very responsive. Mr Alex replied promptly and answered all my questions. He took care of booking airport transfers both ways and our tours. Most of the staff could communicate in English. The family room was big enough. Rooms and bathrooms were clean. Breakfast was adequate. Very good location, near the night market, yet quiet enough.

The room was not clean and staff were not helpful at all.

The air conditioning was malfunctioning, only the fan of it worked. It was extremely hot, around 36-37 degrees Celsius. I went to the reception and explained the situation multiple times. They sent someone with me to check the air conditioning, but he couldn't speak English and didn't take any action. I struggled to sleep in a hot and uncomfortable room that night. The next morning at 7 am, the electricity went out and making the room even more unbearable. I had trusted the reviews and chosen that hotel, but it turned into a nightmare. I promptly checked out in the morning and found another hotel on the same street, which was excellent.

No ventilation in the room. The bathrooms are two small. No cleanliness in the room, mosquitoes, cockroach in the room. It is a very small hotel, the stairs are very small, and the room passage is very small. The hotel has only the 7th floor lift rest for breakfast you need to walk on small stairs. Don't fall just because you like the lobby pictures. TV remote not working. Money Exchange rate is not as market that said local bank rate.

Only Breakfast and location is good. The rest of the other things are a big disappointment. Not justified value and money. Booking.Com this is not 4 **** property, it is only 2.5 * property. Booking.Com biggest liar on their site at this property is 4*.

It has started at morning when we checked in. The room number was on the 7 floor with a nice city view, but with the smell of grandpa’s feet. After that I asked for check out just to find another hotel, but the receptionist said they will give us another number. They downgraded the room number to the 5th floor with no windows inside… This night my adventures didn’t finish. There were a big problem with the wi-fi, so I asked another guy on reception to do smthing with it. Just imagine this picture, I’m holding a guy so he don’t fell of the chair, while he is trying to reboot the wi-fi router on the ceiling. Thanks god he managed to do this. You may think this is it? Nope. Somewhere around 2 pm the water just started to end. So at morning I said about the problem to receptionist and he responded: wait 10 minutes, I have called a guy to check. After waiting for 30 minutes, I went again to the reception to ask why nobody have came and damnnnn, he said to wait for another 20 minutes because they realised they don’t have water…. Overall, the room is ok, but the attitude towards guest is on the next level. I hope I was the only one who was so unlucky with this stay. My only dream now is not to visit this place again ..

The staff - in particular the manager, Ms. Rosa - is the reason this hotel gets such a poor score. First of all, when you check out, Ms. Rosa puts a score of ten into booking.com through your account! I have left another review with a score of ten and no comments, but I have contacted booking.com to have it removed as this was not me. Secondly, we were treated very poorly when booking the Ha Giang Loop with the hotel. Ms. Rosa contacted me before we checked in and sent me lots of information about the Ha Giang Loop. She said we could book the loop through the hotel with Jasmine Tours. Jasmine Tours is a well known company who do the Ha Giang Loop tour, so I agreed. Ms. Rosa sent me links to the Jasmine Tours website and lots of information about Jasmine Tours. She organised everything for us, including a bus to and from Ha Giang, which we thought was great. However, when we reached Ha Giang at 4am and got to Jasmine Tours, we were told we did not have a booking. We tried to contact Ms. Rosa multiple times the next day but she did not answer. Turns out, we were supposed to be at a completely different hostel in Ha Giang called Lotus and were booked to do the tour with them, even though we had been told multiple times it was with Jasmine Tours. We were lied to and deceived by Ms. Rosa. She led us to believe we were doing the tour with a famous company, when that wasn't the case at all. We returned to the hotel after the Ha Giang Loop for one night and Ms. Rosa claimed that she told us the tour was with Lotus in the messages. However, we had the WhatsApp messages to prove she did not. She didn't even apologise for her mistake and didn't seem in any way remorseful. We had enjoyed out stay in Lake View Hotel up to this point, but the deception of the manager totally obliterated any good review we were going to leave. The staff constantly ask you if you have any plans, or if you have buses booked. They just want to take your money. Do not book tours with them!

Good location in the Old Quarter. Comfortable bed and nice room. Allowed us to use a free room before our night bus to shower and freshen up.

Our room did not have any windows. We had to cross the lobby and go to a different elevator through the back to get to our room.
