The manager and his family were very welcoming. The property is located in District 1, close to everything but away from noise. I arrived early and they looked after my bags until check in. I was fortunate to be upgraded. The manager speaks English and was very helpful. Breakfast was delicious and the bed was very comfortable.

Cosy and convenient place to stay in the heart of Saigon. This family-owned business is surprisingly quiet given the central location and offers stellar Vietnamese breakfast. Jan, Lee & Kate took excellent care of us and definitely made us want to stay there again and recommend their hotel.

The staff at the hostel were amazing. We mainly spoke to Lee (one of the owners) and he was always very friendly and helped us to book a trip to the tunnels too. The rest of the staff were also incredibly friendly and helpful. Communication both before (via booking.com) and during our stay (WhatsApp) was always quick. The breakfast was filing, tasty and arrived less than 5 minutes after we ordered (they have 5 options, 3 of them are vegetarian and they suited a mixture of western and local diets). The fresh fruit plate on arrival was so appreciated and we loved having it each day at breakfast too. The room was spacious and had air conditioning, with a good shower and toiletry supplies. Location was very convenient to walk around the city (War remnants museum, Independence Palace, Ben Tanh market, Tan Dinh ect). We had a great stay and would absolutely return again. It’s a great place to stay especially considering the price.

Nothing to complain about. If you are a really lighter sleeper, be aware the hostel is behind Bui Vien, which means that at night you can hear the music from the bars, it is not loud, but it is there.

Amazing place. The location is excellent, near most of everything you need and places you want to visit. Breakfast is simple but good, their pho is better than in some restaurants. The whole staff is super friendly and helpful, always available to answer any questions you have. The room may be simple, but the bed is comfortable, and it has everything you need. Great place to stay!

The location is convenient, very close to the centre and all bars and restaurants. Very helpfully staff and there are many options to take the breakfast (excellent coffee). Our room wasn’t that we expected, they changed the room to gave us more privacy but the room was old, however we enjoyed our time there.

Jan is an absolute sweetheart - so kind and helpful. Our flight got delayed and my luggage was lost in transit, so I arrived at the property very tired, hungry and stressed. Jan brought us breakfast even though we were past the breakfast time, and contacted the airport on my behalf and recovered my luggage that was delivered to our room door. They really go out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. Location of the place could not be better as it's very central, close to 7/11, local bars, and all attractions. The room had everything we needed and you couldn't hear any noise coming from the street! Breakfast was delicious... I honestly could not recommend them enough!

No big complaints. Taxi dropped us off at a funny place adjacent to hostel but no fault of the hostel itself.

Jan was incredibly kind and personable. Spent time introducing us to the facilities and even brought us a plate of fruit as a welcoming gift. Location is a fantastic. Literally a 3 minute walk to Bui Vien walking street for people who like night life. Also a short walk to plenty of cafes and eateries near by in the day time. Even with its proximity to everything, noise was not an issue. Incredibly clean room and restroom. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

The room we stayed in a bit hard to get to with luggages in a small lift. That’s ok since we only use the room to sleep at night.

Lee and Jan were the best host, very friendly, speak good English and very helpful with suggestions for places to eat, their cook breakfast was very delicious and we were made to feel at hone. They were accomodating with late check out, nothing is too hard for them, just ask and one of them will be obliged to help.

Property is very close to the popular Bui Vien Walking Street. Quite the eye-opener and lots to see and do. Great restaurants at tourist prices. The hosts were amazing and very very helpful. This place is awesome for a couple of nights stay.

There is no negative thoughts or responses as far as my stay with Jan Hostel

Jan & Lee's hospitality. This young couple gave their heart out to each and every one of the tourists who were residing there during my stay. The first impression of what this couple would go to make their guests happy and secured. An example for all the future guests who may plan to visit their hostel. I would like to share my experience. At the arrival in the airport, waiting for my prebooked taxi, the taxi counter guy came to me for the payment. I was charged vnd 250,000 for the ride to Jan Hostel. By mistake I handed over three notes of vnd 500,000 thinking it was vnd 50,000 and the balance of vnd 100,000 was paid in Dollars which came to 5$. After arriving at the hotel I was checking my purse and I found that i have overlooked and paid the counter guy in excess. He kept quiet about what I have paid and pocketed the excess. Jan who was with me immediately called her husband Lee and he told me that we will go back to the airport by his bike, consistingly assuring me that I will get the money back. Lee contacted the airport security and we all went back to the taxi counter. After a span of 2 hours Lee who was throughout beside me, coordinating with the airport security, identified the culprit and I was able to get my entire money back. All thanks to this lovely couple. My stay of 10 days was amazing with the best in hospitality from this young couple and their staff who helped me out with the sightseeing tours, the delicious morning breakfast and with each and every assistance from them ended with a smile. I coming from the hospitality industry, being the owner of a hotel in Phuket, learned the simple side of how this couple treated their guests and i pray that they continue this good work with their passion, zeal and commitment towards hospitality They have left me with good memories.

The location of Jan hostel was very good for exploring the local area and had plenty of reataurants and shops nearby. Very close to walking street, but we couldn't hear any of the loud music from the apartment. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and served a nice breakfast. The apartment was very clean, extremely comfortable bed and shower was very good.
