Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FinlandMy female only dorm with 6 beds was really comfy and clean, and had even own toilet and shower in the room. The bed was good and there was good privacy when closing the curtains. The closets were also big enough to strorage a big backbag! Personell spoke really good English! Would def go again :)

ArgentinaI had a problem with the girl who sells tours at the front desk. Please don't let this change your perception of this hostel, and I will share my experience to help you be aware of possible problems you may encounter. I explained to her multiple times what type of bus (to travel from Hanoi to Hue) I was searching for. I even asked several times which was my seat to confirm I would have enough room, but she always told me not to worry. When I get to the bus, it was a nightmare, the worst seat possible, located over the wheel, therefore it was half the size of any other seat. Take into account that these are like capsules with a bed where you sleep the whole trip, but in this case, I couldn't even enter. I couldn't breathe due to my claustrophobia. Once back the hostel, she tried to solve this situation. I was asking for my money back or a way to get to Hue that day. She offered a train and confirmed to me this was a 4 people luxury cabin. The train was even worse than the bus, because it was a 6 people small cabin. Thanks to the security who moved two people from my cabin to another one, I was a little bit better, but honestly, that night was a nightmare. So be aware of how you travel and what you book, and always request a ticket if possible. Beyond that, here are some clarifications: I also bought another tour with another person, and I didn't have any problem. The staff was, as I said, excellent, and I don't have any complaints about them; it was just this girl who I felt didn't understand what she was doing. The hostel paid for that ticket without asking me the difference between the train and the bus. They also gave me a ride to the train station. I think that my experience shows they really care about travelers, and that's why I'm giving them 10 out of 10, because I don't expect perfection anywhere, but this place was close to that with such a caring crew :)
I loved my time here. I stayed more than a week because I extended my nights twice. I can tell you this hostel has AMAZING staff!! John, you probably don't remember, but I remember you, thank you for being so nice and caring. I don't want to be unfair because most of the staff is nice, but John always remembered my name and asked if I needed something. He was open to help. The location and price are excellent; they clean the room daily, and they even change your towel when you request it, as well as the bed sheets. The restrooms were also pretty good, always clean!

SpainI decided to work one night at the reception area, and I ordered a meal. They had pasta with mushrooms sauce and toasts and I got excited, but it was a horrible meal. I was hungry and in a rush, so I ate it. I have a photo, but I don't want this to illustrate my overall review.
They were proactive and resolutive when I arrived with a cash issue, so thank you very much! Also, thanks for the coordination of the day trips. I had a great time!

Czech RepublicI was a bit surprised that breakfast wasn’t included in the price and that it was à la carte – you order and pay separately for each pancake, coffee, and juice, which adds up to quite a lot. I preferred to go elsewhere. :-) That said, for those who don’t mind the budget, it’s a nice, quiet spot for breakfast, tucked away from the street noise.
The welcome was warm, and I got my room right away. It was quiet, clean, and had a window facing the atrium, so outside noise was blocked. I was surprised that such a peaceful stay was possible so close to the Old Town, without the noise from nightclubs. What’s great is that the reception is open 24/7. And after checkout, you can leave your luggage in the luggage room – it’s not just left lying around in a corner. I’d be happy to stay at this hostel again next time.

PhilippinesI am not sure what the bathroom/toilet policy is but it seems guests can choose any available toilet in the building. I was in the female dorm but was surprised seeing a guy came out of the cubicle prolly after a number 2. If this was not supposed to happen, I would suggest labeling the bathrooms accordingly.
5-star staff service: everyone's friendly and welcoming! They were very helpful and easy to communicate with.

GermanyEverything was pretty good, but also not the cheapest. Pretty clean. Beds have power, lights, curtains, free towels. They also offer some group activities like walking tours (v. tips), cooking classes and free beer between 7-8pm. Bus and tour bookings are also possible, prices are reasonable. Point to improve: lights in shared bathrooms are centered, so no lights from the front, making e.g. shaving a bit more difficult.
