How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The bed is a bit hard. The lounge was very low. Nothing to sit on the balcony Hot water takes a long time to come through.
John the owner was a great help organize a tour for us. Breakfast was lovely but not always a buffet you have to order from the menu was great save on waste in the quiet times. Dinner was lovely we had there. The pool was clean and tidy.

No customers, so no buffet, paid 3,333,333 vnd for ocean view's and couldn't see the ocean, so I'll never stay there again ☹️☹️☹️

Loud music noise at night from the club in front of hotel which is not owned by hotel.
Breakfast was quite good (there was Pho the cuisine I like most on the day I stayed). Hotel has separate areas for rooms and pipe houses. Swimming pool is very good, free parking. Worth the price after all.

Mix up with the rooms. Nothing like what I booked. They said I booked a circle wooden hut outside the motel. The website I booked didn’t even have that accomodation to be able to book. The whole situation was handled badly by staff. Eventually sorted and manager apologised.

The bed very uncomfortable. Next to the hotel is the Unic Lounge soo soo lough at night. We could not sleep. The windows frame was broken. A lot of dust and a hot air get in the room.
Breakfast just ok. Very easy to access the beach.

Dear Booking.com Team, I am writing to report an incident during our stay at New Wave Vung Tau Hotel, booked through your platform ). Our stay was from December 21st to December 22nd. Initially, my wife had exactly AUD 1,000 in her purse. Due to the absence of a safe box in the room, we left this money in our bags. On December 22nd, after going out with some Vietnamese Dong and leaving the bags with AUD in the room, we returned to find AUD 50 missing from my wife’s purse. We initially thought it was a counting error, so we didn’t report it to hotel management. However, the following day, December 23rd, after again leaving the purse in our hotel room to go out, we discovered an additional AUD 100 was missing, totaling a loss of AUD 150. Despite keeping the room keys with us, the housekeeper had been inside the room for cleaning. We immediately contacted the hotel management for assistance to check the cameras. Regrettably, the interaction with the hotel manager was far from satisfactory. Before conducting any investigation, he assured us that no strangers had come into the room and that his staff had not stolen anything. The manager was defensive, and upon suggesting mediation through Booking.com, he threatened us with a negative review, which was highly unprofessional for the following reasons: 1. The significant amount of missing money cannot be overlooked. 2. The refusal to investigate and the defensive attitude of the manager are alarming and do not align with the standards of customer service we expected. This experience has been distressing and disappointing, as we trust Booking.com for secure and reliable accommodations. We kindly request your assistance in addressing this matter and ensuring such incidents are prevented in the future. With no physical evidence, I suspect that the staff had been stealing our money. I would like to share our story in a review so other customers can be aware of this hotel for their safety.

Overpriced room for value and bad staff service. Reception would not show me to my room and no one helped me with my bags. Spa bathtub in my room did not work. Wifi did not work and when I asked for help, staff tried leave me with the task to install a router myself. Very noisy club next door. Also guests have to pay extra to use the pool!!
Breakfast was okay, good Vietnamese food but a buffet should have more variety of Vietnamese foods.
