Needs a few maintenance and renovation. Sockets are a bit loose which happens when hundreds of travelers come and go. Blow dryers have to be replaced too as some no longer work but nothing serious that can't be fixed.

Everything went really well. Met awesome fellow travelers whom I got to also share some of my tours with. Staffs are always ready to assist and help you out, especially I'm working and traveling altogether and want to make the holidays/free days I have be packed as possible. They helped me out sort my tours at a good price. Definitely will come back again when I visit Hanoi in the future. If you plan on working like I did, you can go to the 2nd floor mini room where there's a socket and a quieter than the common room as it can be not suitable when you're having meeting/call and people are socializing which is expected. Situated in perfect spot at the Old Quarter. Have a WhatsApp group that already provides recommendation so as you won't be clueless if you're like me who just book a flight and went without any plans. Most hostels don't have any group so this is a big plus and also nice to see who's around when you need to share grab when you're going to like the airport.

The door of my room didn't close well (3rd floor - 4 beds dorm), and it's not great for safety reasons. I mentioned to the reception but I didn't check if it was fixed.

The bed was very comfy. There are curtains for privacy. Reception is open 24 hours and staff are always there to help. I especially appreciated the guy who works night shifts. Always kind, professional, and with a big smile. Thank you!

The staff is awesome: helpful, engaging, knowledgeable and empathetic. They helped me with upgrading the room since I got sick and called a bus company to find a bus timeline. The room for 4 people was very comfy and well organized, with a spacious locker, personal light, outlets and a private bathroom. It was quiet since we had only internal window in the room.

Some of the night staff were a bit strict when we were talking outside (it was 1am on New Year’s Eve so we felt it was a bit unwarranted).

I stayed at this hostel for a week at the tail end of my Vietnam trip and it was the perfect way to end it! The location is amazing, right in the middle of old quarter but tucked away in a quiet street. The people that stayed were super lovely - I had some fun convos and hangouts with them and it was very easy to talk to anyone due to the common spaces. The 6 person mixed dorm was great, incredibly spacious and lots of space for luggage. I also loved that each bedroom had an en-suite but there was also bathrooms on each floor that were cleaned regularly.

Would have given this place a 10 anyway but they had a sign in the elevator offering free dessert for a good review. Don’t love that. This place was good enough to get a 10 without trying to get good reviews with free desserts.

Very centrally located in the Old Quarter, clean, and had very good breakfast options. Lots of tours available to book. I stayed here 3 separate times across two weeks while in and out of Hanoi. The six person female dorm I thought was nicer (more spacious and modern) than the two 4 person female dorms I stayed in. I’d pick the six person if I had to choose again.

This is the best hostel I have EVER stayed in. I used Ha Noi as my home base during my two weeks in Vietnam and stayed in Old Quarter View Hostel each time I came back. To start, the staff here are amazing. They are kind, accommodating, and very helpful. Victor and Nancy were especially helpful to me throughout both of my stays. The location is right in the heart of the Old Quarter, but tucked away from the noise and chaos. There are amazing cafes and restaurants less than 2 minutes away, and an ATM is also very close. The vibe of this hostel is the perfect balance of social and respectful. I had no issues making friends, but also had quiet time in my room. It is clean and well organized, too. There is always someone cleaning the washrooms it seems haha. If you can, I think it’s worthwhile to get into one of the rooms with only 6 beds and a private washroom. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Ha Noi, this is it. 100%.

I did use a shower cubicle that didn't have hot water but it might just be that cubicle.

The staff was super helpful and the dorms were really high-quality. This is the position of the bedside lockers next to socket was ideal for safe charging and our 4 bed berth had its own bathroom. The staff were super helpful, in particularly ocean who gave great advice

The only problem I had was some other guests who didn't make that much effort to be quiet but that's the risk in a hostel (and I had my towel stolen once, which is annoying because you have to leave a deposit - I'd advise locking the towels away while you're sightseeing!).

The old quarter view Hostel is in an excellent location in the middle of the Old Quarter district. I was able to reach many sights on foot and never had any problems finding my way around. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly, they even helped me when I had to do the laundry at short notice before departure or when I wanted to do a day trip to Ninh Binh and only got in touch with them the evening before (the day trip was great by the way and I really recommend it!). The beds were clean and the bathroom (I was in the 4 bed only female dorm room) was an absolute highlight.

There wasn't a lock system for bigger items. I felt safe leaving my stuff but that would have made the hostel perfect.

For the 10 years of solo travelling, this has to be the best hostel I have ever stayed in. The facilities, the staff were wonderful and helpful and the location, it’s smack bang in Old Quarter in the heart of Hanoi and knowing the area well it is quite noisy but the hostel has done a great job sound proofing the noise from outside for a comfortable nights sleep or lazy day in the bed.

My only complaint was I'd rather have sofas rather than bean bags in the common area. The dorms were perhaps on the small side with little room to manoeuvre but otherwise manageable.

This is my first hostel in Vietnam and it was a very pleasant stay. The beds were comfy and you have stairs rather than a ladder to climb to the top bunk which makes it much easier. The toilets and shower were very clean like it was cleaned regularly. The staff was exceptionally helpful and helped me get my boarding pass when I had trouble getting checked in online on VietJet Air. There's a free walking tour almost daily starting at 10 am which I recommend if it was your first day in Hanoi. Helps you get orientation of the city. Conveniently located in the tourist district and though the district was loud with nightlife, the dorms were quiet.

Wasn’t the most social hostel I’ve been to if that’s the vibe you’re going for.

Clean beds, private beds with a curtain rail all the way around the bed so you secure some privacy. The showers were hot and the staff were super friendly, free beer every night too at an allotted timeframe!
