The common areas upstairs were a bit small, and not much room to hang out or chill. The best area to hang out was on the ground floor.

The room was quite spacious, and it seemed relatively newly renovated. The mattress was surprisingly comfy compared to many other places that use tough mattresses. The staff was very friendly and always willing to help you to get the best deals on tours, taxis, buses, etc. The best was the restaurant. It was very simple delicious, nothing fancy. However, the value for money you get, it is tough to find something else outside. The breakfast menu goes from classic Vietnamese Pho to the classic western eggs your way, pancakes or cereal. Everything with a mix of seasonal fruits. Highly recommended for people on a budget.

After thinking about my previous review after staying another night, I don’t really think I completely understood what was happening… I’d rather put it like this: This hostel isn’t just a place to stay; it’s a community where strangers truly become family. The staff goes above and beyond to make everyone feel at home, fostering connections that turn into lifelong friendships. Their warmth and hospitality create an atmosphere where guests feel like they’re part of a big, welcoming family. It’s truly a home away from home!

Location is very central which is great but can be a little overwhelming deep in the center.

I loved the set up of the 4-bed rooms in this hostel, loads of storage and very cleanly. Comfortable beds with curtains, individual lights and shelving by the bed. Friendly staff that will help with anything, laundry services and free or cheap events.

This is a hostel. I don't blame the staff or the personnel. Some guests would pee in the shower instead in the toilet and the whole shower area stinks.

It's location as it is right in the middle of the Old Quarter. Right outside is the Beer Street and easy to locate on Grab.

Usual small stuff you always get bothered by at hostels - some noise from other people or lockers slightly too small to fit larger bags. But honestly, this is not the property's fault and I can say this is one of the best hostels I ever stayed at. Exceeded my expectations by far.

Very clean, and at the most amazing location to explore the Old Quarter - literally in the middle of it! The staff is incredibly nice, and yhe reception is 24 hours. I also liked the curtains around the beds and the individual power outlets.

The Old Quarters View Hostel in Hanoi is an absolute gem! The atmosphere is amazing, creating a warm and welcoming vibe. Beds are comfortable and very well designed with privacy curtains. And great storage, with a small bedside locker and a large locker below the bed. The lobby is a really nice area, and the free beers every evening create a great atmosphere for meeting fellow travellers - it's not a party hostel, but it's very easy to socialize. The staff were great, and the location is perfect if you want to be in the old quarter - right near the busiest streets but tucked back a bit so it's not loud, or mad with pedestrian/bike traffic the instant you're out the door.

for a dorm, there were wide lockers and many compartments to stow my things. the bed was also comfy and i was able to sleep well after my packed days. what i loved the most was the free walking tour! i enjoyed so much because we went to many places and the guide explained everything in detail and answered my queries. he even brought me and my newfound friend to this really nice buncha place we enjoyed. hi (not sure of the correct spelling of his name), in the front desk was super kind and accommodating as well! overall, i enjoyed my stay a lot ❤️

Perfect location, super helpful & friendly staff and nice bedrooms. I chose a 4-bed female room and we had our own toilet, so very good. Free towels and soap/shampoo.

There were some bits of trash in the dorm from other travelers. That's not really the hostel's fault though, mostly the guests. Free beer was only available for half an hour so it was easy to miss. Also, there is a helpful whattsapp for guests with tours and language classes, but it seems like events are often cancelled because not enough people are interested.

Good location at the center of Hanoi's Old Quarter. Lots of authentic food options nearby at all ranges of price. Near many of the tourist attractions in Hanoi. The free beer during happy hour was a plus, especially since it brings together the hostel guests in one place. It's a great time to go meet other people! I think this is the best hostel I've stayed at!

I've done many years of backpacking and I've never stayed in a hostel this clean!!! The staff were super friendly, the food was delicious, the location was spot on, and there were even free showers/loos in the hallways in case you needed a quick shower before a sleeper bus - those bathrooms also absolutely spotless. There were also lockers in the room that would fit my whole huge backpack. I would return any time

Amazing location, next to beer street, but in hidden quiet road. The staff is lovely. Lots of activities available to book at the hostel directly. Nice to meet people. They also cook at the hostel, the cost is low and the portion for breakfast is large.

Air conditioning wasn’t working in the room on the first night, but staff called an engineer to fix it an hour later. So bad moment fixed efficiently turned good
