We stayed at the hotel twice during our trip, before and after Ha Long Bay. The first room was fine and they kindly upgraded us for our return trip. The second room was lovely, great view. Kim, Liam, and Phoebe were very helpful. The pool looked nice, but we did not use it. The lift stops at 12, and breakfast, pool, and rooftop bar can be reached by some steps. Breakfast choice was good. We left early on our last day, and they kindly organised a takeaway breakfast. The location is excellent, close to the lake, market, and train street. It is always busy, but we liked the hustle and bustle.

It can be a bit noisy at night. One night there were some bands playing very loudly until about 10pm.

The breakfast was fantastic and the hotel was within walking distance from most sights.

I couldn’t fault anything with Rex Hotel Hanoi , I liked everything about it , comfortable stay with friendly staff members greeting you every day. Buffet Breakfast every morning, Indoor Swimming pool , super comfortable bed , walking distance to all the city tourist hot spots.

No lift to the rooftop or the pool. 48 steps from last lift to the rooftop. No shade at rooftop bar.

The staff were friendly. Location was great. Great pool table, fusbal area. Good breakfast with eggs made to order.

It was like a homecoming. We ended our trip with Rex, just the way we started it. This one was just a one night stint. The way we were received by Rose and Kim, was beautiful and full of warmth. We have decided all our Hanoi trips will be at Rex only.

I felt like the bathroom and shower was quite small, so when we showered a bit long the bathroom floor was really wet. There was no bathtub either in the Premier Deluxe Twin Room and the view was meh, so I'd recommend booking a suite if the view matters.

Rex is situated in the heart of the old quarter and is right next to Hoan Kiem lake. It is located very close to Beer Street so here is never a dull moment if you are staying here. The lobby service was the best I have seen in my time in Vietnam and they offer solid money exchange.

I was under the impression that I could get room service but didn’t realise it was only until a certain time. I was coming in late on a flight and booked the hotel with the hope I could get food and drink at that time

Our room didn't have any view at all, it would've been good to get a preview as I would have happily upgraded for a view. Our room had a few issues including shower drain blockage and the AC didn't work at first. The toilet door was also difficult to close. For the price paid we would expect these small things not to be an issue. Although nice, the pool is not very child friendly.

We really liked the location, it is in a very walkable area right in the centre. The staff were also excellent and very friendly. We liked the floor with billiards and table football which gave a great view of the city. Breakfast was good with a nice selection of food for all palettes.

Just to nitpick if at all, i wish the bathrooms were better ventilated (since the place is very humid) and perhaps if the pool were outdoors that would be great. Nothing that takes away from the place to be honest!

Oh where do i even begin! Kim became my most trusted guide, always with a smile on her face and such helpful suggestions for food, excursions, shopping. Even before the trip she was connected to us with her invaluable tips! Absolute gem ❤️ Rose, we met once we reached and like Kim she also had the best to offer. Hinny(hope im spelling it correctly) from the resturant upstairs was a darling, with her cheeky smile and compliments galore. The location was central and walkable to almost all major things. The beds were super comfortable, like sleeping on a cloud. We would drift off almost instantaneously. The Bar area was great with views for days! I would love to come back to it everytime im in Hanoi.

Unfortunately the lift does not go beyond level 11 and the breakfast room is on level 12 and the rooftop bar is higher still, which would be difficult for people with medical issues.

Excellent location, everything is at your doorstep. The area is closed off on weekends and becomes a walking area, and is very vibrant with music, street performances, cafes and bars. All the staff at the hotel were incredibly helpful and I highly commend the staff at reception. Good breakfast and the rooms were clean and well stocked.

Shower pressure and temperature underwhelming, however at the end of a long day it did what was needed.

Staff at Rex where some of the friendliest we have come across, recommendations for tours, activities, food. Location to the old quarter action right on the door step. Walking street and beer street minutes away.
