Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe walkway though I was able to manage it with my cane the use of my walker would have made it easier but it didn’t matter because the hospitality service food ambiance spacious room more than made up for the minor inconvenience
Lolita and Tasi made our stay extra enjoyable with their excellent hospitality and service and food

AustraliaEnjoyed every single bit of my stay, I was quite scared on my first night being a solo female but Lolita was so caring and kind. It was so relaxing and peaceful and the views are amazing!! The food is very delicious, breakfast each morning was yummy and a very generous amount. The staff were all so wonderful and friendly, room was clean and super comfortable.

United KingdomThe location - the eco lodge has incredible views over Apia which means that it is pretty high up and not especially close to anything. Nothing is within walking distance. Lolita runs a shuttle to Apia which is fab, but I would recommend getting a car/scooter to get around here otherwise you will have to pay a lot in taxi/tour fares. There’s also not loads to do here so having a car means you can get out and explore Samoa.
Absolutely loved my stay at Dave Parker’s Eco Lodge. Alongside the gorgeous views, Lolita and her team make this place really stand out. They cannot do enough for you. The room was comfortable, spacious and clean. The food was good. There’s a lovely little waterfall on site which is so refreshing for those hot and humid days. 100% recommend

Staff are awesome. Room was simple and clean. Food is good, especially the traditional umu. There is spiritual connection with nature up in the mountains overlooking the town of Apia. Billion dollar view. There is a cooler breeze when elevated. I know where to come next time I visit Samoa, Dave Parker Eco Lodge!!!. Thankyou for making me feel at home. ♥️

IrelandCome for the view, stay for the warm, caring staff and local food! My husband and I had a fabulous time here. Lolita and the other staff were attentive and helpful. The lifts to town were great. The grounds of the hotel have amazing plants and flowers and small waterfalls. We were lucky to be there on a Sunday and get to participate in the traditional umu feast. The nets on the windows are very good so you can have all the windows open.

United StatesIt would be nice if the hallway lights could be turned off at night so the rooms actually would be dark. If not off, then dimmed, or some of the hallway lights turned off if one or two must remain on for safety.
Breakfasts were excellent, although the toast was a little soggy. Fruit superb. The hostess Lolita is a wonderful person and an efficient hostess. The rest of the kitchen staff are delightful folks, friendly and eager to please.

Austriaalthough the staff is generally very nice, there were a lot of language barriers. if you wanted that something is put into action you could only speak the the managers, which is usually not a problem - but they gave you the sign of understanding/affirmation (yes) even when they understood nothing, they just didn‘t care what you wanted or needed.
its in the middle of the jungle, you have peace and its very calm!

SwedenThe infrastucture is a little 'aged', so perhaps it is not for those expecting a lot of luxury. I would still rate it very good value for money.
This is an extremely hospitable place with very friendly staff. Food is very good. Recommend especially the traditional umu meal (served only in weekend and special holidays)

GermanyThe gap between the bathroom wall and the ceiling does have potential for domestic discomfort if you’re not acquainted with the local cuisine.
My wife and I both grew up with lively Grandparents who lived in big white houses in the countryside - on opposite sides of the world. Consequently, we both quickly felt at home and fell in love instantly. The place lives and breathes as someone’s home with multiple generations of a family working together. The rooms are simple, but spacious and have everything you need. We’ll never forget the breathtaking view of Apia from our patio, especially during a misty morning South Pacific cloudburst, or the fun drive up the hill. We wish we could have stayed a while longer. You can comfortably reach every place on the island by car from here on a day trip. There’s a pool table downstairs and a bar by the office. Being alone in a bar at night with two barmaids, one half my age, the other double was also memorable. Breakfast was nice and served with probably the best view you’ll have in your life. The lodge feels like it should be the fanciest hotel on the island. I am surprised Marriott hasn’t bought it yet. I didn’t think I’d visit a small, remote place like Samoa twice in my lifetime, but this place made me dream of coming back one day. Thank you Dave Parker, Malama, Lolita & Vale.

New ZealandDefinitely being bug spray. The room was very moist so a dehumidifier would make a real difference.

New ZealandThe service is always excellent and the meals are beautiful and fresh with local ingredients. The view is stunning and the air is clean and refreshing. It’s a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Apia but it is still close enough to visit and base yourself for day trips around Upolu.

New ZealandThe mozzies bring plenty of repellent. We went in their wet season, so its understandable. Plus, it's high up on the mountain, and it rained on our last week. However, the mist and literally being in the clouds was amazing to take photos!!
The hospitality, the friendship, the food, the laughter. Lolita & staff looked after us very, very well, especially out mumma, who is 87 years old🥰💕. Drove her to & from her room to the main house/ dining area every day for our 12 day stay. So grateful as it was a wee bit steep for her...our legs were fine to walk up it 🙂 Beautiful fresh small waterfall to swim in, besides the pool again fresh water from the river. Fresh fruit striaght from their garden or trees!! to your plate! Can't get any fresher or organic than that! They especially made an umu for mumma & us on out 2nd to last night. Highly recommend this eco lodge & with their outstanding views of Apia and the rain forest & the beautiful flowers in the garden looked after by Malama 🥰 & staff Customer service was on point. We helped make the umu with them! You felt like you were on holiday away from the hustle down in the city & villages ✨️💕🌺
