Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandThe pool is in bad need of repair, parts of the tiling were in the pool which is very bad, the chairs in the restaurant and bar need cleaning as visibly dirty, one of the deluxe rooms the shower water pressure was very bad little water coming out, my kitchenette wasn’t a kitchen just a sink and shelves underneath. Most days I had to chase towels because replacements weren’t provided at the time of the room clean. The linen although washed were still stained. The constant smoking of other occupants on their balconies made my balcony experience unpleasant. Smoking on the balconies should be banned and in smoking zones away from the room. The noise level from other tenants was unacceptable late at night. My neighbours children’s were screaming and slamming doors at ungodly hours after 11pm. I wasn’t made aware there was a bar with live band on certain days. The description said Wi-Fi but that’s false advertising as you don’t supply wifi, the patrons must BUY prepaid SIMs which is nothing to do with a Hotel wifi, which is non existent. Shortage of cutlery at the restaurant most days at breakfast. A good idea is provide a shared room for everyone with a couple of microwaves and sinks for cleaning. The rooms are in bad need of an update. They are dated interior. The days the live bands were on there was lack of parking for the patrons.
The gardens were beautiful. The breakfast was nice the koko alaisa, the fried eggs the pancakes , these were tasty.

AustraliaI personally preferred the food at the restaurant a few doors down.
Good room size with balcony overlooking garden with sea glimpses. Helpful staff. Lively bar out front playing good music and had a lovely local band on Friday night. Complimentary breakfast cereal, local drink (cocoa, banana coconut drink), tea/coffee, pancake, toast, fresh fruit. You can order eggs but must pay. Has a big pool.

AustraliaThe rooms were basic and not clean. The towels were stained and so were the cups including the pool. It advertised breakfast included but it was continental breakfast and the cereal boxes looked old. No variety. We were charged $50pp that stayed in the room (which were our 2x kids) and were charged on checkout an extra $200 for 2x nights that our kids did NOT stay at the hotel despite advising this in advance that we would be staying elsewhere for these nights, but was told it didnt matter because they had to reserve the room. An extra $800 ontop of accomodation charge of $1, 271.40 + deposit paid of $211.90c. Total amount $2,283.30c for 7x nights. Communication was terrible and there was not transparency. Not worth the price we were charged and would not recommend this place to others.

New Zealand- False advertising of "free wifi" there was no free wifi. - Our bed sheets were changed once - We had to ask for clean towels after a few days of no changes - Pool was not cleaned regularly - Breakfast was the same most mornings
The location was good, short distance to the main town centre.

New ZealandI booked months prior via booking.com and when I arrived, they did not have my booking. They tried to get me to book directly with them which was more then what I had booked for online. Instead of apologising and sorting it out initially, I had to keep persisting to say they should uphold the price as it was an error on their end. Place is really outdated with poor maintenance and the room smelt so musty. The tiles in the pool were broken.
Breakfast was good.

New ZealandOur room had cockroaches crawling on the walls, on the bathroom and one night was on us while we were lying in bed. The pool had broken tiles very dangerous for children, dirty too. Our 3rd to last night my daughter was lying inside while we were out on the balcony my husband went inside to check her and smelt weed coming though the aircon which was very unacceptable and wasted our money. We paid almost 2k and to receive such poor service and all we got was a sorry and not sure if any complaints were passed to owner.

AustraliaFriday and Saturdays there is a live band which was great The noise just kept on going every night except Sunday When using the laundry service cloths went missing and then seen on the housekeeping girl walking down the street do not recommend anyone use this service. Other people’s personal items had been taken from their rooms while they were out. Found the female staff at the bar rude and definitely require some further training in customer service. Drinks mostly hit and not prepared for the weekend swarm of people who attend the live music. Smoke burns in the sheets and when asked to change them they were turned around and the smoke burns on the other side of the bed.
Location was good 😊

AustraliaIf you need to sleep early in the evening, be aware that the bar at the Hotel will have music running. Even though a Saturday, the club next door was closed and did not create any additional noise.
Easy check-in, could store my luggage during the day and they scheduled the airport transfer for me in the middle of the night.

New ZealandThe bed was close to falling apart. The air conditioning worked but couldn’t be changed, so was freezing during the night. It was also very loud during all hours of the night, every night, for the 3 nights of our stay

New ZealandThe noise was a bit loud from the pub next door and the hotel bar. This is because we were in a room in front of the hotel by the road. The rest of the family were in the rooms at the back of the hotel and didn't have the same issue as us.
The pool was good. The location was great, but maybe not on a Saturday night. A reasonable price accommodation with parking and breakfast.

United Statesthe booking agency advertised WiFi access, but actually no WiFi on sight. Get a free SIMM card from the bar/restaurant and pay for rechargeable minutes. Worked fine.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel was basic, but very adequate. A/C was quiet and worked well. Taxis were easy to find and very reasonable. Shower water was alway hot.. Overall a good experience. i would definitely gather again.

New ZealandUnfortunately we wouldn't stay here again. We had booked a deluxe balcony room and what we got was a standard ground floor look at a iron fence room, when I asked about this I was just told sorry and shrugged off. Our window was missing a whole pane which meant that the air-conditioning didn't work properly as the hot air was still coming through. The hotel is very tired looking with the pool missing loads of tiles, which has to be a safety hazard. We couldn't take a shower in a row as our drain was so blocked it would overflow. The food at the restaurant is pretty average, my partner ordered chicken wings which where under cooked, and breakfast was your standard white toast and fruit. Sometimes there was pancakes. On a Friday and Saturday night the bar has live music which is great unless you would like to sleep as you could hear the bass all through the hotel. We had to keep asking for new towels as the house keepers would take the dirty ones away but not put new towels in.
The pool although missing tiles was at least cold and sitting around it was nice in the sun chairs. This was the hotels saving grace. It is in a good location close to the town center of Apia but you still have to drive around 10 minutes to get to the closet beach. The housekeeping and reception staff where all very nice and said hello.
