Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe room could have been a little cleaner. For example, there was significant leftover soap scum in the soap receptacle in the shower and one of the coffee cups in my room wasn't quite clean.
Well located to where other family were staying. Quiet room considering the hotel location on a main-ish road. Air con worked really well and bed was very comfortable.

New ZealandA few more choices for gluten and dairy free at breakfast. The stray cats although they are creatures of the world are annoying as always seeking food when you are eating, and unhygienic as they jump up on the table. Also one day the pool was over-chlorinated leaving us with stinging eyes and skin. This lasted for two days, so made swimming a no go.
The manager, Mele, was excellent. She works incredibly hard to make this place run well. She was super organised when we were returning for a last night, and had emailed all the details to make check in easy. She communicated with us really well during our two stays to make sure we were happy and had all we needed. We liked the relaxed feel of the place and the safety of it all being behind the main building off the street. The garden pool area was so peaceful after the bustle of the market.

Mele is extremely helpful and kind. Can't ask for a nicer host for the hotel. Pick this over the expensive Tanoa hotel! I stayed there before staying here and can wholeheartedly say this is 100x better. Breakfast is good too.

New ZealandIt was unusual being a "Hotel", apart from breakfast, nothing was open or provided to have lunch or dinner there, even the bar wasn't open and really frustrating especially on a Sunday because a lot of shops/restaurants are closed.
The pool was nice to swim in. Location was great.

New ZealandGlad we did not stay here for long. (3days to be exact) The rooms was not clean. We had ants, lil worms and mosquitoes in our room every day. Had no idea where they were coming from as we had our windows and doors closed. Found fake acrylic nails near the bed and bubblegum stuck under bedside table which was disgusting. Breakfast was included… went to go get something to eat and was immediately put off by the ants all over the fruits and jam. Very unhygienic place to stay.
The fact it had Air con was the only thing I liked. Staff were friendly.

Australia3 hours to check in. The room we got was not what I booked. It was unclean, fridge was moldy, bedsheets were dirty the room was dusty. Even the remotes showed how dusty it was. And the aircon didn't work. I booked a room with 2 beds, got given a room with 1 bed and told they couldn't accommodate an extra bed and if they found one for us it would be an extra charge. I.asked for a refund and was told "sorry it's Non Refundable". I asked to speak to the manager a few times and everytime they said she's not available, or she's busy or she's not here. Yet they keep coming back with instructions from her. By hour 2 I was getting frustrated as the receptionist came with an offer from the manager whom still didn't want to speak to me. She offered an extra room for $200, I asked if its for the whole time we're there and she answered "No, it's $200 a night." I was speechless by then. The housekeepers were running around trying to clean our room and wipe the mold out of the fridge, I even helped strip the bed and watched as they put fresh sheets on. I watched as the maintenance guy brought a single bed that looked like it had been through a hurricane into our room and put it on the floor and then they put clean sheets over it. Other than sleeping on the flooe, my brother got eaten by bed bugs that night. We had no choice as it was non Refundable but I would never recommend staying there. Ever. Apparently it's the Deputy Prime Ministers wife that runs it. There was another family there that had complaints but again, non Refundable. Breakfast was minimal, basic but that's expected. They charged a lot but provided very poor service. Crossed from our list and anyone else who thought about booking there. How can you help run a country but can't even run a hotel properly? End of story.
Location was good. Housekeepers were nice.

The receptionists were great, Mele was awesome and the younger girl was lovely. The owner greeted us and his family were so welcoming when they had a family birthday there and gave us food. They made sure we had seats when we got out of the pool. They did our laundry for us and breakfast each morning was lovely.

New ZealandWe recently enjoyed a splendid stay at this hotel, conveniently located just a 20-minute stroll or a quick $5 tala cab ride from Apia's main attractions. The staff were the highlight, offering super friendly and kind service. They readily assisted us with taxi arrangements and even took lovely photos for us, enhancing our experience with their exceptional hospitality. The rooms met all our needs with their cleanliness, spaciousness, and comforting air conditioning. The pool area was a clean and inviting central feature of the hotel, perfect for a leisurely dip or relaxation. Breakfast was a delightful bonus, offering a variety of choices including cereals, toast, and hot options like pancakes, complemented with tea and coffee. Our stay was truly enjoyable, making the hotel an excellent base for exploring the area. We left with great memories and would recommend it to anyone looking for comfort and friendly service near Apia.

United StatesI didn’t like the flat out wrong rating. Breakfast was corn flakes and toast with a little fresh fruit and instant coffee. The room had holes in the ceiling. Poor WiFi was found at one spot outside by the pool. I’ll say it again hotels like this have their very lace but as a first time visitor to Samoa I couldn’t tell if the price was a red flag.
The Bookings rating is wrong. This is a 4.5 not 8.5. Don’t get me wrong hotels like this have their place. It was safe and a bed. Of course the staff were wonderful, they are Pacific Islanders.
