How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Cleaner got inside while I was dressing up, took the towel, and started cleaning before my checkout time. On the app, the cheout time is written 11am, but now they're telling me that the checkout is at 10 am. I was naked, and the cleaner got inside and did her job . Now I'm back home they've just deducted my money again. I don't understand

The cleaning ladies are rude . Woke up to a room that had water on the floor from the fridge because there was no electricity for some time and had to go with un ironed clothes and there was no communication until I called to find out . Had a drunk guy who wanted to force his was to our bedroom and loud

The bed was not comfortable, we only had one, 1 ply toilet paper, the remote had old batteries and when we called they said they will send someone but no one came. The bathroom door did not close so it caused noise through out the day. Could not open the curtains because there’s no lining. No Aircon, no burglars on the windows which is a safety hazard.

A cleaner stole my herbal medication I bought for travelling. I could have given her money to buy one if asked. I requested for an iron which never came.. One I borrowed had a black under. How can this be.
The shower, easy to use or balance the water temperature. Easy to walk in and out. Access to and out of the facility. Quiet place no disturbances all through the day.

The check in process was complicated and very impersonal. No iron in the room, nobody to ask for help so having to make calls and be kept on hold. Very frustrating.
The bed was comfortable and when it was working, the Wi-Fi was good

Service from staff. Firstly I was sent the incorrect check in details, my driver had to wait outside of 40 mins. He checked out on Tuesday 7:30am, left the keys where he was told to. Then I received a call saying they didn’t receive payment on Wednesday at 11am (24 hours after checking out) and asking where the keys are coz they can’t find them. I was then told I have to pick up the cost of changing locks because THEY can’t find the keys. I’m very unhappy with their service!

The tv wasn't working properly , there was a lot of noise from doors banking at night and we didn't have enough utensils.

I didn’t like the fact that the staff didn’t communicate properly when it came to booking in. Also wasn’t so happy about our car having to park outside and not in a secure parking.
I liked that the house was actually secured. The room was clean and tidy and quite comfortable. I love how the room was so spacious and had everything close by that was needed.

The only disappointment I had, was the banging of the entrance door, it's doesn't lock at all, and my room did not have remote for the TV, so I could watch tv at all.

The was no soap holder in the shower. The was no kitchen cloth to use. As it was raining water was coming in the room through the front door. they did not put an extra toilet paper in the bathroom.
The safety as I received a code to use at the gate.

Indiscipline patrons drunk and forcing themselves. in my room late and asking my toilet soap and tissues as if they had not been supplied in there rooms An employee to guide us where to go for dinner or breakfast general guidance was not there.
There was no breakfast although the location was good , clean and nearness to the road. the room had water heater kettle boiling hot water in the room but did not have sweetener or coffee or tea leaves.
