Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandThe food didn’t meet our expectations. It was ok, but we were expecting more from a place like this.
It’s an amazing experience, the game drives are incredible. The huts have everything you need and very stylish.

United KingdomInformation provided on timings for the day differed to the actual programme. Poor gluten free offerings with lack of understanding on the dietary requirements for Coeliac despite being given significant notice. Wood burner was poorly fitted and leaked water from the chimney during the rain and belched smoke (all guests reported the same issue due to poor chimney airflow).
Incredible views and location. Comfortable bed. Luxury toiletries. Size of the game reserve is huge. Guides were brilliant. Beautiful pool.

ThailandThe game reserve does NOT really have Big 5 as they advertised. We asked some staff and they literally told us there was NO leopard. we were just taken aback that there were not many animals here.. you could drive for 30min without seeing anything. (not sure maybe it is normal for a reserve as this is our first time but we just came from a national park and saw so many animals all the time and were just surprised)
The property itself is really beautiful. scenery, decoration, service AMAZING. Food is really good too. Spa is really nice too. This is a great place for R&R for sure but not so much for animal viewing.

Germany-
A beautiful, large and well-kept house in the quiet. With eland antelope, black wildebeest, impala, springbok near the house. On the way to the main house we saw buffalo and rhino, a small private safari. On the safari we were guided by the ranger Cordelia, an animal whisperer. Thank you for the unforgettable impressions.

United KingdomAn amazing safari experience with very attentative staff who do everything to make your stay ever so enjoyable. The inclusive food was better than expected and had great option for both vegiterians and meat eaters. The bar prices were very reasonable, suprisingly cheaper than I was expecting. I would also highly recomend having a massage in their tented bush spa while you are there.

United KingdomSome restaurant staff very slow, but nonetheless friendly, although had to prompt or chase them most of the time for service. Didn't like BBQ night options. Requested bottle water once and was told it wasn't possible, maybe as it was early morning before the game drive. Would offer bottled water in future before game drives. Location and services on site are absolutely brilliant, although room service could clean room and clear empty glasses/empty bins in rooms more often.
Kelvin/Calvin the Ranger was brilliant, went above and beyond to help us find some animals we hadn't seen yet, dedicated and amazing at his job. Also Eunice in the spa is amazing, friendly and professional. Staff friendly and welcoming, facilities on site brilliant and room spacious and private

United KingdomThe giraffes are in a separate fenced off area to the other animals (as they don't want them eaten by lions). The cheetah's have trackers around their neck. Experiences in other parts of S Africa in the past have felt more authentic, but this was perfect with our little boy. A large charge was added to our bill from the gift shop that we didn't purchase. It was removed when I noticed it, but had I not checked thoroughly, I would've been significantly down.
Such a beautiful location. The Kwena lodges and the pool with the firepit and the restaurant is all just dreamy. Wildlife roams right up to the accommodations. When we arrived, there were zebras in the carpark. We also came across a buffalo on our way back from dinner to the cottage. We were with our 3 year old, and were accommodated with another young family for a game drive at no extra cost. The game drive was good, but I don't think there's a huge amount of game on the reserve to see.

United KingdomOne member of staff was a bit direct and difficult about our 2 boys coming on the game drive (despite Gondwana having already said they could come), which was a shame, but he (the next day) realised his mistake and tried to be more friendly the next time...
We had heard wonderful things about Gondwana, and it was all true! The game drives were great, and they accommodated our 5 and 3 year old boys on the main game drives (with other guests with children). Anya, our ranger, was brilliant and very knowledgeable. The Fynbos Villa was one of the best holiday accommodations we had ever stayed in! And the restaurant and bar were great.

PortugalN/A. Everything was perfect.
What a stay! Gondwana goes straight up to the top of best places we have ever stayed in. Overall the park is amazing and greatly managed, the game drives were spectacular and the staff was unbelievably supportive and helpful throughout our stay. We stayed over for 2 nights with a small baby (1.5y old) and we were accommodated on a beautiful and huge villa (would fit 8 people), the staff was able to accommodate for us going on a couple of game drives with the baby - which she absolutely loved - and you are able to enjoy the pool / restaurant to relax in between. Couldn't have been a better experience, honestly. If you are driving from Cape Town like we did it can seems a bit of a long drive, but it is definitely worth it - one of the highlights of our trip to South Africa
