From the best communication with Tamara since I booked. The welcoming from the receptionist and the staff. Clean rooms. The place is beautiful. The tranquility,not forgetting the uninvited visitors(monkeys) Ooh the food 😋 woow. Everything is fresh and tasty 😋. The waterfalls are across the road from the hotel. Overall u must be fit for the steps and hills. We had a great time loving every minute even the 🌧 🌦.

I liked the old-fashioned vide on the hotel. The small bar was cosy and they had great food to offer. Our room also looked out on the riverstream.

Bathroom ceiling and shower tiles at the bottom black with mold and could smell it throughout the entire cottage. Unit not clean - previous people's beer bottlecaps still on outside table for example.

The bedding is old and stained and needs to be replaced. The pillows are old and awful. For a cold place like hogsback, a rug on the floors would really help warm up the rooms.

Staff were lovely, the gardens are beautiful and the cottages have the potential to be amazing after they have Been revamped. I see some have, sadly ours was one of the old water damaged ones from the old thatch roof that is leaking. Thankfully it didn't rain while we were there

Lack of maintenance in the unit. Fire place was not clean when we checked in. Gas stove did not work. Unable to make coffee in both our mornings we spent there- due to loadshedding. Entrance to the door wet and slippery due to mud. One of the hot blankets did not work - due to a broken plug.

Arminel Hotel is the jewel of Hogsback in terms of perfect location, great Staff, wholesome meals and comfortable & cosy accommodation…particularly the cottages!

Everything. The unit smelled really stuffy and mouldy. The showers looked like they had not been cleaned. The iron didn’t work. The water was brown. The toilets were dirty. These were no glasses. The mattresses were filthy. The hotel staff didn’t inform us about the restaurant policy. We checked in late and couldn’t have supper that night.

The condition of our room was terrible. The dampness and mold on the bathroom ceiling are disgusting! The dustbin was broken. The bedside light was not working. The tiles and towel rail in the Bathroom are damaged. The shower floor looked like it had never been cleaned. There were stains on the wall next to the toilet. My linen on the bed had hair on from the previous guest I am assuming. It looked like it had not been changed. The Guard at the entrance is no longer and the boom is not working. Overall security seems questionable. Stayed in Room 6.

The General Staff were great. Very Friendly and willing to help. The grounds were clean and well-kept.
