mattress and pollows were too soft. Although candles are provided for power interruptions there was no matches or lighter - fortunately not required!!

Breakfast was lovely - vegan, Mediterranean - a delight!

Old Joe’s Kaia is a haven of tranquility. Every part of it is beautiful and Marian and Paul are extremely welcoming and went above and beyond to make our stay a wonderful experience. The vegan food they serve is absolutely delicious and contributes to the overall revitalising feel of the place. Heartily recommend!

A bar fridge with ice would have been nice.

This was our first experience with vegan food and we were pleasantly surprised. The plating, textures and tastes were amazing. The breakfasts were also exceptional!

Lovely, relaxing, serene accommodation, very close to the N4 that was very convenient for our route back to Jburg. The lodge serves vegan food which was delicious.

Nothing. Excellent stay and would come back again.

The food was exceptional. As non-vegan's we were not aware that the breakfasts and dinners would be vegan, but the food was beyond excellent. Mariane was a brilliant cook and her and Paul excellent hosts. My wife and I came away from our two days at Old Joe's Kaia feeling well rested and a little bit healthier.

I would not change a thing, but I do recommend that the venue explain that the venue is not suitable for everyone. It is strictly vegan and the steps from parking to the rooms and down to the labyrinth is not suitable for travellers using walking aids or have mobility problems.

This venue is a vegan retreat. The breakfast and dinners are a melody of tastes. Really amazing.

    Everything was perfect.

OJK is a destination in itself, not just a place to stopover. If I had known what a paradise this is, I would have stayed longer. Marian and Paul have placed so much attention on detail - in the rooms, along the walking paths and especially in the meals. 5-star vegan food (we are not vegan/vegetarian) - the 4-course evening meal was an explosion for my taste buds. They also sell their own dry meal mixes to take to kruger: just boil water and let them sit for 30 min and you have Marian‘s culinary magic in your tent/bungalow. We just had #1/6 and loved it. It is very easy to reach, right on the N4. Order drinks on the veranda and then just forget all your cares/stress.

Gaining access to the property was difficult as there was loadshedding so phone signal was limited to Vodacom and phones went unanswered. We had to call the farmer next door to open the gate for us after hooting for some time then driving to find signal and returning again. Leaving the property was as difficult. We were also not prepared for the amount of steps to access our unit.

    Nice walks on the property.

Access at night a little intimidating. Entrance gate locked and not illuminated at all at night. As a result one needs to be extremely cautious when slowing down to avoid missing the turn into the drive way. Fast moving vehicles on the national high way is a concern.

The opportunity to experience and taste plant based food. Quiet amazing and educational. Paul was outstanding as a host.
