Game ranger was not the best I’ve had. Did not introduce himself once and he could not control his rowdy guests. He also lacked enthusiasm

The lodge is beautiful and is peaceful. The rooms are exquisite, comfortable and clean. The lounge area is beautiful and serene. The menu was also great. The surprise bubbles with a hot bath & candles setup in celebration of our wedding anniversary was a cherry on top👌

We ordered some beers late night in saturday but it did not arrive (we cancelled later). But this is something that does not change the experience at all, I'll keep it a 10.

Everything was properly arranged, we had no problems at all with everything. We had two great safari drives (we managed to see all big5), excelent lunch, breakfast and a very good bonfire braai with local music. Staff very friendly, everything well prepared and organized, would defintely come back again.

Shepherds Tree is a true luxury bush experience. I loved the plunge pool in our private chalet and the outdoor shower is a great.

Everything was lovely but food was not the same quality as with a previous visit. Yet still tasty. A sensor light outside during night time was disturbing our sleep.

Game drive pleasant and the ranger gave lots of information.

Has been my 6tg time at Shepherd’s. Renovations/maintenance in room seems very very sloppy and unneat for a top 5 star property. I toof photos for example pf paintwork in bathroom. It is sad to see how things just ‚‘worsten‘ and deteriorate ? Game drives were VERY VERY unpleasant. Felt like a race from one viewing to the next and then is the visual like 1 out of 5. Think it is vital that for us as South Africans also get the same attention us the overseas guests.

There are no drinks included with meals and the water is rather expensive. I would appreciate some water even if other drinks need to be paid for.

Very welcoming staff who went out of their way to make us comfortable. They included special surprises as this was our honeymoon. The view from the room is unbelievable.

Our stay at Shepherd's Tree was amazing. The staff were so friendly and organised a surprise suit and romantic turn down for us. The food was great, the game drives were fantastic and the rooms were clean, comfortable, well stocked and had breathtaking views!

The staff is incredible! So attentive, kind and sweet. Always willing to help and assist with anything. The food was exceptional and so were the facilities. Perfectly cleaned rooms, beautiful location. But the biggest highlight for us was our ranger for the game drives, Oratile Junior. The sweetest and kindest guy! He showed us the pilanesberg national park with so much knowledge, passion and excitement for the animals and the habitat that we couldn’t not fall in love with Shepherds Tree Game Reserve!

Some fixtures need attention. Loose toilet in the room, toilet door could not close and loose toilet roll holders in common bathrooms.

Lovely location, friendly staff, comfortable and clean. Fantastic bush/animal experiences.

The first ranger was so busy calling in the wildlife we were spotting on his radio to his colleagues that it distracted his driving, and he told us zero information about the wildlife. Fires everywhere, and on my last drive, the ranger (Piet) wasted 1 hour driving through still burning areas, where no wildlife hangs around in. Then when we saw 4 lions, we spent less than 1 minute viewing as he said we ran out of time. Not impressed.

Food excellent and so much of it. The bed was huge and all the amenities were excellent in the room. Golf buggies very helpful with luggage.

all meals were superb, very tasty served in class. the plating was good and the choices spread. I don't eat meat but enjoy fish and I had 8 different kinds of fish in the 2 days there. My Italian friends loved the red meat and one duck dish

We almost did not book because the pictures made the place look too modern, not what we look for in a game lodge. In fact the buildings blend really well into the surrounding bush. Our only issue would be the dining room, which feels cold and impersonal.

The lodge is excellent, easy to access. The game drives and the bush walk were excellent, and the staff are all top notch (including chef). Excellent rooms too, very well designed so you feel on your own.

The food was outstanding, but the risotto which appeared on 2 or three menu items was dry and like glue. The food still rates 5 stars otherwise!

Everything! The staff were friendly, helpful send responsive to our needs. Our bath did not have cold water and this was sorted within an hour of reporting it. The panko prawns were heavenly!
