MauritiusI booked for 2 nights, the booking was confirmed on booking.com but when i got there at night the booking was not on their system. they mentioned a double booking, but made a plan for that night. i however had to find an alternative for the 2nd night.

GermanyThe rooms are poorly soundproofed and small. Although the hotel is not cheap, the restaurant (coziness, menu and service) we didn't like.
The outdoor area offers a very nice view over the landscape and the wineyards. The breakfast was very good!

South AfricaThe management of the hotel decided to cancel a number of rooms from our party for overbooking and then proceeded to blame bookings.com for the mix up. We all had to scramble and double up on rooms so as to accommodate our friends and colleagues that had been inconvenienced and basically told that they were as fault. Bookings that they had been made and paid for months in advance were cancelled and refunded 4 days before the day with not so much as a call. When trying to sort it out - calls and emails were completely ignored and guest travelling for the wedding didn’t know if they had Accomodation at all. The hotel arranged for some of the guests they had inconvenienced to stay in a self catering accommodation which had no generators - making it tricky for them to be part of the festivities- with no sensitivity to the feelings of the guests and the consequences of their actions. when questioning this and trying to assist - I can honestly say that I have never been spoken to as rudely as by the owner of this hotel - and this because I was trying to help a colleague. It was a disgrace and at no time did they accept responsibility for the inconvenience- or apologise. We had to sleep 3 in a room in order to give a room to a couple who were inconvenienced- and then got charged for the extra bed! over and above this there was no fridge in the rooms and only 2 working plugs. On the one evening they couldn’t provide dinner as they had a private function. It is super clear that they do not value their guests at all.
We booked to stay at Devon Valley for a family wedding early in the year. The location was beautiful and we were looking forward to the weekend

South AfricaThe bathrooms are not cleaned daily, bed sheets are not changed daily, the phone in the room did not work and there were bugs in the room. The carpet in room 21 smells very bad, that needs to be taken care off urgently. The toilet brush holder is filthy (Health concern) The above just does not make sense considering the amount I paid.

the only positive thing about this property is the staff - the poor receptionist who had to try and help overbookings and unhappy guests. no support from management.
