United KingdomStandards have slipped a little and they weren't as proactive as I expected. Little things like our room flooded so we had to get maintenance in, we were woken in the morning early on a Sunday by strange noise which seemed like maintenance work was going on. I recorded this and showed to reception who seemed completely disinterested in this issue. the Breakfast standard wasn't as high as it was when we stayed last time. Even the 1 Coffee machine was not working properly. I also asked about some medication and they couldn't even tell me where the nearest chemist was. let alone any offer to help sort out
It's generally a good hotel and a destination within Lusaka. Last time we stayed it was very good

United KingdomThe check-in experience wasn't too friendly. We were paying in cash (USD) and the lady made a point of checking every single note in detail (I later found out that there has been a problem in Zambia with counterfeit dollars, but think she could have still been friendly and explained this at the time, and still made the check in experience nicer). To be fair she warmed up a little bit later on when discussing where we'd been in Zambia and that we really liked it but it was a very cold start. All in all, quite a corporate, un-personal hotel, but not necessarily a bad thing when it's for one night and you need something familiar. Prior to going, I had asked via Booking.com messages about a transfer from the airport and was advised to email the concierge, which I did but didn't get a reply. Eventually got through to them on Booking and was told it was a shared transfer and $35! Far too expensive - just get a taxi, it's so much cheaper and perfectly safe.
We stayed for one night here in between trips and it was exactly what was required. It's a safe, known brand, and you get what you would expect. The room was good - very big, very clean, good bathroom and bed. We ate at the hotel restaurant and that was brilliant - it was a Friday night and they had a BBQ buffet - every meat you can think of, and lovely side dishes too. Best of all there was live music, and it was full of local people having a great night out. It felt like a slice of real life rather than a sanitised tourist experience. We were going to the airport the next day, and we got a taxi straight away as there is a rank at the hotel. The pool area is lovely - we didn't use the pool but sat in the pool area in the sunshine.

United KingdomCan’t think of anything really, maybe the bathrooms are starting to get a little dated but everything still functional. Value for money may come into dispute if not refurbished in next few years.
Staff are all helpful. Good parking. Within walking distance of East Park Mall. Room was comfortable and large. Safe for valuables. Great breakfast selection, smiling and friendly egg and pancake station chef. Facilitated packed breakfast one morning when i was running late.
