How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

However, there were some areas that fell short. Communication proved to be a challenge, with long reply times when attempting to resolve issues. Additionally, the ladies responsible for cleaning and the kitchen sometimes lacked attentiveness and diligence, and it was evident that not all of them had sufficient experience or training in hospitality and guest interaction.
During my stay at Mt Pleasant BnB, I particularly appreciated the friendly and helpful guards, especially the overnight one who assisted me with the check-in process. The rooms were well apportioned and clean, surpassing my initial expectations.

The DStv was not working in our room. Went the whole night without it.
The WiFi was of great use, and was working well. Made the stay quite convenient for some work that needed to be done.

The AC in my room didn't seem to work. Breakfast sausages were a huge turn off. Please provide real beef sausages.

No kettle or coffee making facilities in the rooms ,however kitchen is free accessible.

Short episodes of Power outage in the Mornings meant that we sometimes didn't have access to WiFi. Initially put in a smaller room the first night even though we had paid for the Queen Suite. This had to be rectified by the manager.
The Queen suite was big and spacious. Breakfast was fresh and good.

The lodge needs to provide good sets of bath towels. Furthermore for the 2 days duration only one roll of toilet paper was supplied.

Only for the vegetarian peoples, the breakfast is not satisfied. I have not taken lunch and dinner also there.
The staffs are very cooperative. I was enjoying my solo trip , within my stay at Harare, Zimbabwe. Everything were excellent.

Had a little challenge with the flow of warm water but not a big problem for a night's stay.

I think you should put two towels for each person a small bathing towel then a DT

The room needed to have been thoroughly dusted The shower head needs changing or cleaning, so one gets a full spray. It would be good to be able to call and get a quick response. The phone was not connected. Dinner plates in the kitchen would be great, not saucers.
The space in the Queen Suite was lovely. I liked being able to entertain friends in my own space.

I don’t think we were allocated the roomed we booked and paid for, our room was a bit small, we could not fully make use of the wardrobe as it was blocked by the office desk and there was no space to move it, we also requested a cot bed which made the room even smaller. What we saw in pictures and booked was different is from what we were given. The cot bed we were given for our daughter was not clean
I liked the fact that I had access to the kitchen for 24 hours, it made it easier for us to wash our daughter’s feeding bottles and make her food in the morning. I liked the location it’s quite and clean. The shuttle service is great, good car and good driver, we had a smooth drive.
