The village of Batigama is also very authentic - there are almost no large or even medium-sized hotels, just small houses where local people live and also other small guesthouses. At the same time the guesthouse is very near to the main road that connects all the resorts on the southern coast. The best beaches in the area are Turtle beach in 5 minutes walk (good for relaxation and turtle watching) and Hiriketiya beach which is 3 km away and has bigger waves and surf lifestyle vibe. The family who owns the house is very nice. They make delicious breakfasts and also can help with useful information, such as public transport schedule or facilities in the village. The owners also have a dog that is super cute and friendly!

Our apartment at Serene Villa really had the wow factor, we were lucky enough to be in room 6 which is relatively new and on the top floor and away from everyone else, with an incredible view! Comfy bed, great shower, lots of privacy, high quality furnishings, kitchen space, great air con etc - we were so happy here and I wish we had stayed longer than 5 nights! The team are wonderful, happy, welcoming and brilliant hosts. Breakfast was fantastic. The gym on site is better equipped than most. The yoga was great as was the coffee - we were very happy to pay for these extras - they’re definitely worth it. I also had a massage which was wonderful and used the laundry service which wS impressively quick! It’s a short walk to the beach/bars etc - so a great location. Word of warning - there are loads of monkeys so hide your food. They look into the windows to see what you gave! They broke into our apartment and stole our sweets/fruit - but our own fault for having them on display!

Great food, Amazing views, Very comfortable bed and bed linens, Renuka at the Spa was amazing! Best spa in Sri Lanka. The hotel helped arrange a sustainable whale watching tour and was prompt with organising tuktuks to take us around.

Beautiful apartment in fantastic location! Had a beautiful stay, the family are so friendly and helpful. Would recommend anyone visiting Hiriketiya Bay! The balcony and work station are absolutely stunning. Surrounded by nature and the sounds of the jungle.

Great place to stay and just a few minutes by walk to the beach, recommended. Also the management is nice and helpful at all times.

The accomodation is exactly what you expect. The pictures show the reality. The host was very welcoming, kind and helpful. Breakfast was very nice.

The location was absolutely amazing — just a short walk from Dickwella Beach! Our host was incredibly helpful and kind, even arranging a scooter rental for us within minutes. The rooms and common areas were super clean and spacious, making the whole stay really comfortable. We honestly wished we had stayed here longer!

Zeleny Retreat Home Stay se nachází v destinaci Matara a nabízí ubytování s balkonem a bezplatným Wi-Fi. The property had two large bedrooms with air conditioning and conjoined bathrooms. This was perfect as I was travelling with a friend. We particularly liked the upstairs private balcony !

Our stay here has been one of the best in Sri Lanka. Very kind, lovely and helpful family hosting a few bedroom guesthouse. We planned to stay one night but ended up staying 3 nights. Room was great, too: spacious, balcony, very good beds and good AC.
