The location was amazing. In the winter the hotel is only accessible by train and when the last train leaves the evening you are completely cut off - I found this quite exciting.

Unable to use UK plug adapters due to electrical wall socket profiles. The room was clean but very austere. Closing the outside window shutters is a very precarious process. You should only lean out of these windows when they're open with extreme caution. That's because they have a very low window ledge, and depending on which floor you're on (we were on the 2nd floor), there's a 30-40 foot or 9-13 metre drop below. A major plus is that this accommodation is very close to the Gotthard tunnel, which enabled us to drive through it circa 06:30-06:45 hours without queuing the next morning.

Located next to the Intschi-Arnisee Cable Car, the Gästehaus Schäfli offers en-suite rooms and Swiss dishes made from regional products. The restaurant has a garden terrace.

Easy to react from the highway with amazing views of the surrounding mountains. Lots of wooden walls, floors and ceilings which was a bit creaky but added to its cosiness. The shower looked a little dated but wow it was an amazingly powerful shower and the bed was very comfortable too. The Schnitzel cordon bleu (chicken)was delicious as was the pork schnitzel. We enjoyed the views from the terrace with a pre dinner drink. After a tasty continental breakfast we went in the cable car which is two steps from the hotel. Wow the views up top were splendid with a wonderful walk around the small lake Arnisee. Not to be missed!

Freindly staff and nice restaurant on ground floor with great home cooked meals. Really enjoyed our stay here as preperation for a week of ski touring. Owner really tried to make a super breakfast.

Nicely located for hiking in Val Bedretto, with a post bus stop nearby. There was an ample offering of foods for the included self-service breakfast. Dinner at the restaurant was distinguished by attentive, friendly service and by creative and delicious à-la-carte meals. Our room was clean and well-appointed.
