The staff was super friendly! It was also nice to participate to this project that empowers local women.
The beds were nicely made and clean, the wifi is good, and in the kitchen everything is at your disposal.. We received a late evening snack and a very nice breakfast while enjoying the beautiful mountain view from the garden, in which you can choose the herbs you like to make an infusion <3

Nice place with friendly staff. No air-conditioning but still cool by leaving windows open, with the downside being outside noise and a couple of streetlights lighting the room somewhat.

I felt so lucky to have found this hotel in the beautiful Paul Valley. The view from our window is exceptional and it makes me feel so calm and energised. You can hear frogs and lots of different insects in the forest at night, which itself is calming. We also had a little visitor (owner’s cat) in the room. Amazing memories, will definitely come back again!
A good location for a relaxing getaway in Paul, Pousada do Ceu is a bed and breakfast surrounded by views of the garden.

Amazing place to stay - beautiful views in every direction. Rooms are simple, but comfortable and great value for the price. The included breakfast was a good start to the day and the dinners served communally for a reasonable charge were very filling and locally sourced. It was nice to meet other travelers - not as easy to do these days. The owner is a dynamo who can take care of everything while switching between French, English, German and Portuguese.

Unforgettable views from the room and terrace. Quiet and peaceful, only beautiful birdsong waking up in the morning. Perfect for access to hiking trails and for seeing and experiencing authentic life in the valley. Best breakfast I have had :) and delicious food at dinner too. Warmly recommend!

I think we were very annoying on our arrival day, since we changed our estimated check-in time 2 times: From the initial 10h in the morning to 5h in the afternoon, to 10h in the evening. This was all possible since messages/phonecalls were answered quickly, allowing us to communicate efficiently. Even though the host had already left when we finally arrived, she had informed us about how to get inside; it all went very smooth.
We had room number 1. This is important, since this seems to be the only room in the house with a private bathroom.
The room (of about 12m²) has a separate dressing room (of about 6m²) with a huge wall-to-wall closet. From that dressing room, a door leads to a patio (about 8m²) with some cables that can be used for drying some laundry (no, there is no washing machine). Apart from windows, there is no other entrance to that patio, so it was basically "ours". The dressing room also leads to the private bathroom (with a door) of about 5m². It features a well sized shower with hot water, a sink and a toilet. The toilet's shower-for-private parts was broken unfortunately, but with a real shower nearby, that was not really an issue.
Room 1 is the only room on the ground floor and it connects directly to the shared lounge/kitchen/reception/stairway area of roughly 45m². There are some tables and chairs and a large well equipped kitchen. There were all sorts of cookies, fruits, coffee, tea, juice, milk, drinking water and quite some stuff in the fridge that we were all allowed to eat/drink. This is also where a nice host (Keila, a young lady) prepares and serves breakfast at whatever (reasonable) time you agree with her. As you might have guessed, that breakfast is amazing, and everything is served with a smile.
Outside there is a big terrace to enjoy the sun all day long.
In conclusion: An amazing experience for a very small price.

Super friendly staff, great breakfast, awesome terrace, great location. Great additional services, such as laundry washing and meal preparation for hiking.
For travelers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms might be shared by other guests, and there's usually shared space with the host.
It is a very good place, if you look for an authentic village. It is managed by the local women association, and it is managed well. All is clean and well-kept. Good local food. The village is very quiet. The view is spectacular and the sunsets are idyllic. The village nightlife concentrates around a shop run by Antonio and it is a good place to meet the villagers. They welcome visitors. I posted more stories and images at nomadicmind.org
