The 60s-style "retro" look in the bedroom and especially the shower room. My hostess went *way* out of her way, literally, by coming to get me when I got lost. I found out on this trip that my Android--my 1st phone of this type, as I'm a technophobe--is worthless for maps and directions without Wifi. So all I could do was call for directions at the exit for Challans. My gracious hostess led me through at least 6 kilometers of roads and traffic circles. I never would have found her place otherwise. I wanted to offer her some gas money, but felt she might think it "declasse'." Merci encore, Madame!

The hosts could not have been nicer. They made us feel welcome and immediately at home in our lovely and lovingly-appointed accommodations. Breakfast was delightful, with grapes served from the garden, eggs, delicious breads and homemade jams. Our hosts had many great recommendations for places to visit. We wish we had stayed more than one night!

This is a super clean comfortable family run hotel. Even though the restaurant was closed our hosts prepared an amazing meal for us because we were on bicycles and there were no other facilities open on Sunday. What an amazing gesture!
