Codladh Sámh is located in Templemore, just 29 miles from Kilkenny Castle and 31 miles from Kilkenny Railway Station.

My favorite stay on my Ireland trip. The couple that runs the rooms are the nicest you could meet, very attentive and made me feel welcomed to the community. The rooms are first floor, quiet, nicely decorated, the bed is comfortable, the bathroom is large and super clean, along with a small refrigerator, and desk made this location easily the best of all my stays in Ireland.

Keeles Townhouse offers accommodations in Birr, 23 miles from Tullamore Dew Heritage Centre and 25 miles from Dun na Si Heritage & Genealogical Centre.

This is a decent place for what you’re paying. Shared bathrooms were clean but the hot water was pretty low — this is definitely a budget stay.

The Gardens B&B enjoys a location in Birr, 21 miles from Cross of the Scriptures and 24 miles from Tullamore Dew Heritage Centre.

Good value room with Irish breakfast included in a residential house. Nice and friendly hosts. Located close-ish to Birr Castle Demesne, which is why we chose it. Feels like a rural residential area. Hosts recommended a nice restaurant in walking distance where we dined.

Breakfast was awful - very poor selection unless you wanted a fry up! The hotel only had flavoured yoghurts and when I asked for some granola I was offered a bowl of muesli. The fresh fruit never materialised.

Fantastic breakfast. We enjoyed an amazing assortment of fresh fruit and cereals before a lovely cooked breakfast. We were delighted to happen across this excellent B&B as the local hotel had no availability. However, we would not hesitate in making this our first choice going forward if we were to stay in the area again. Hosts were really welcoming and went the extra mile for us. The weather was very cold but the room was lovely and warm and the bed really comfortable.
