United KingdomLocated on the banks of Ashtamudi Lake this was a real treat for our 4 nights in Kollam. The accommodation was in a terraced building with balcony for outside dining, a reasonably large bedroom and typical Indian shower / toilet wet room. The owner couldn't have been better, taking 4 of us out at night to 2 large local festivals which were amazing, this was topped off by a promotional film being shot in the grounds. A last treat was our visit to the local restaurant Meen by Chef Pillai, past winner of UK's Master Chef.

IndiaI have booked one room in KRK. But we were late to reach there. But no one there in the office for admiting us. We are tryied many time to connect them but no one responded. In the mid night I had to wait there in a tired condition.

He recommended a restaurant and sent us to a temple festival. We can recommend doing the boat tour to see the sunrise. He also helped us with the next part of our trip. Beautiful spot along the water, gorgeous and charming wood bungalow, in perfect condition, spotlessly clean and fully equipped (multiple power sources,… ). The staff is extremely nice, helpful and professional. This place has been by far our best experience during our 2 weeks in Kerala. Toilet was also big and very clean. Very cheap laundry and you can rent bikes to go around or kayaks. The view from the hostel is beautiful and you can observe fisherman nearby every morning. The host can provide with dinner and lunch since around the hostel there is not much.
