We stayed at Kurumba lodge for 2 nights and couldn’t fault our experience. The homestay is situated in a beautiful area of the national park, we were able to see so much wildlife on our doorstep. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner all made fresh by the family. The night safari that they took us on was amazing, we saw a wild fishing cat (very rare), elephants and crocodiles.

What a beautiful accommodation this was! Everything is very new, the room is spacious with air-conditioning and a nice seating area in a very peaceful area, with even a hammock! The warm shower was lovely, and the host was very friendly as well. They can also prepare delicious food for a fair price if asked in advance.

Beautiful setting and lovely, comfortable rooms. We enjoyed delicious home cooked Sri Lankan food. Rishwan was a helpful host and arranged a safari at a reasonable price. We had to travel to the further gate due to flooding but it was worth it as we saw 4 leopards and a sloth bear, countless birds and other mammals in this beautiful park. A walk around the area surrounding the accommodation is well worth it. There is lots of bird life to enjoy.
For travellers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms may be shared by other guests, and there is often shared space with the host.
Great place and great host! Thanks Anton for hosting us :) only 3 km from Wilpattu park entrance, small but very nice sweeming pool, and a quite place with wonderful pond with birds on the backyard.
This was a lovely boutique hotel with great service, the staff were all lovely and friendly and all went out of their way to ensure our stay was a happy one, it had a lovely pool which we sadly didn’t get chance to use and a very nice separate restaurant/dining area which served lovely food. The room was very comfortable with ceiling fan and air con and fully stocked: shampoo, conditioner and shower gel which were all very nice.
Great secluded spot to soak up nature, watching giant squirrels and Langurs from your room. Elephants roaming the grounds early in the morning too 😎
Room was comfy with plenty of space, staff were super friendly and very helpful
The private plunge pool was a lovely touch after a hot day out
Luxury accommodation with superb meals in a jungle setting. We did the all day safari seeing leopards, elephants, crocodiles and loads of birds. Also the evening boat safari which was relaxing, but very informative with a knowledgeable guide. The setting is idyllic next to the river. There are only a handful of other guests so plenty of space for sitting, relaxing.
The food is of a very high standard, beautifully presented and good value. Nothing is too much trouble for the attentive waiting staff.
The stuff was friendly and the owner was there for us to organise safari. He also tried to find other guest, so we could share a jeep for the safari (unfortunately it didn't work). He also called a tuc tuc for us to bring us back to the main road. The place is in a quiet area, where you mostly only hear the noise of the animals.
Close to the hotel there is a small local snack bar where you can get nice local fingerfood.
The rooms were ok for the price and they were clean.
Amazing accommodation, super friendly host and crew. Beautiful new rooms, new bathroom…, luxury looking. Amazing bed and pillows, by far the best stay. Beautiful garden with fresh fruits, tons of birds to watch and according to paw prints, the occasional elephant. Very good food
Great location, very quiet and relaxed. Staff very helpful although their English was limited - Gihan the owner wasn’t there but contactable by phone - Google translate helped with communication. Delicious breakfast especially the pancakes.
It’s in a great location, peaceful and safe. The tents we stayed in were not the luxury ones but were insect proof and comfortable enough. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The nature walk was worthwhile, the naturalist was knowledgeable.
Awesome hospitality. Great location.
Go for Mahoora preferably as it is more spacious than the Big Game.
Day time is warmer but the night is really cozy.
Thusitha is great host - very humble, prompt and accommodating.
