JapanFor us, the location was great - it’s right by the airport, and not too far from the rainforest discover center/orangutan rehab center. The house has everything: water and dryer, blender, countertop oven, filtered water, etc. Communication was friendly and helpful (our flight arrived at 12:30pm and we could check in early). We had a nice quiet morning coffee and chat in the garden/patio area out back, too.

The manager Connie is very friendly & helpful, fast & easy communication. The location is very quiet and peaceful on the top of the hill surrounded by forest, there is a little supermarket in walking distance. The apartment is adequate for a short stay, but lacks charm or comfort. Don’t be tempted to think the location is walking distance from Sandakan city centre though - it isn’t. You will need to use Grab to get to and from anywhere (with the possible exception of the English Teahouse).
