Set on a citrus farm on the banks of the Sundays River, Avoca River Cabins offers game drives, 2 outdoor swimming pools, a children’s playground and conference and wedding facilities.

I only have great things to say about this place. When we arrived by motorcycle it was very very hot. The manager upgraded us to a little chalet so that it would be cooler and more comfortable for us. The whole property is beautiful and well maintained. They have a pool and a lovely river. We had the breakfast in the morning and it was copious and delicious. It is definitely a place I would not hesitate to recommend.

Hildelene and Ronnie and the entire staff went above and beyond. Their flexibility, kindness, and genuine caribg turned what could easily have been a lost day into a legendary experience. The easy, friendly, honest interactions were so welcoming. I always had a smile on while there.

Beautiful setting. We preferred the rooms in the main building, not the stable cottages. Very quiet and private. You can always find a spot to relax. Very peaceful.

We were in Chalet 3. Wonderful, huge chalets, block house style, comfortable, big double bed on ground floor, 2 single beds above, but without wall between them and ground floor. Air conditioning, great kitchen, everything extremely lovely and cosy. Bathroom separated by full wall from ground to ceiling. Good dinner and full breakfast. Very nice Pool area - a quiet place in a private game reserve, not more than 7 gravel road minutes from R335

A big thank you to Heinrich, Judy, and the whole Avoca family. This was our second time at Avoca River Cabins and again it was unforgettable. From breakfast to dinner and especially the private dining right at the loft, everything was perfect. The chutney chicken was fantastic <3 You feel right at home here. The resort is beautifully and quietly situated in the middle of citrus plantations. Everything is very clean. You come as a guest and leave as a friend. :) We will definitely visit you guys again :)

The location was great! A short drive away from the Addo Elephant National Park, and based in a quiet area with a private parking spot. The room was also big enough, and the bathroom as well. We had a friendly introduction with the terrain thanks to the friendly host, who referred us to a nice restaurant closeby.

The location is truly magical with great views and surrounded by nature - no noise from any roads! The gravel driveway (behind the gate) is long enough to make for a good/safe running route, which was an added bonus. The vibe is definitely to book dinner and tours, which we weren't planning on doing and felt a little awkward at check in. I was also surprised that such a luxury stay had the cheapest hair dryer in the room.
