The tent we stayed in was absolutely fantastic. Spacious, decorated with care and cosy lighting. The robes were nice and fluffy and the bed comfy. The outside shower was nice and warm. The outside kitchen was well stocked. We adored the hot tub amidst the lush plants outside. Fabulous and fun vibe. The host took hid inspiration from Jurassic Park, which made me laugh and I must say I think he did well.
At one point I was walking along the road to Proyecto Asis (which I highly recommend visiting especially the sloth tour). It is not far, but a bit of a hair raising hike. I got a text from the owner that his father (who lives nearby) had seen me walking along the road…was I okay?! Haha, yes fine. Lovely family. I felt looked out for actually.
Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace, FERNANDA Dome at FéLIZA Rainforest Domes is situated in Monteverde Costa Rica.

The view was awesome! We were in total ‘awe’ when we entered.
The way they dome is organised is great, you have a big bathroom and kitchen, while you can enjoy all of the view out of your bed.
The bed was out of this world, haven’t slept as well during our whole trip then there.
It was very clean and very well equipped! The outdoor bath was perfect under the sky full of stars.
The hosts are wonderful, when you need something they will fix it for you in a minute.
It was my birthday during our stay and they decorated the dome with balloons and gave Costa Rican donuts as a gift 🥰
Couldn’t have celebrated my birthday anyplace better!
For travellers who love being in nature with an added sense of luxury. Also called glamping, tented camps provide full or limited services, while surrounded by the wilderness. Typically in permanent or semi-permanent camps, these private tents/yurts are a great way to rough it while staying glamorous.
If you stay here, you stay in the jungle. You hear animals all around, also at night. Wonderful experience. The hotel itself is beautiful, clean, it has lush gardens and a lovely staff. Very good breakfast. Go for the “tents” which are cabins that stand on columns with tarp instead of walls. Your terrace is up in the canopy of the trees and it has a hammock! Amazing! Good insect net above the beds. It rained at night but it didn’t bother us at all. Bathroom is also amazing, you see the jungle while showering!
The loveliest host and most knowledgeable about the nature and wildlife in the surrounding jungle. We had a very comfortable, clean and spacious room overlooking the wilderness with plenty of birds flying by. If you're looking for an off-grid adventure to learn more about nature, then this is the place for you. Will definitely come back next time 😊
This was probably one of the nicest locations we stayed at during our journey around Costa Rica! The wooden tents in the jungle were great. In the evening we could see lots of wildlife like frogs, turtles and snakes - in the morning you'd wake up by the sound of the jungle. Food was also super tasty. The pool looked nice, too, but unfortunately we had no time to try it.
Would definitely stay again.
Fantastic view of the volcano. A bird watching paradise because of the feeder’s. Great to see the sunset and wildlife. Restaurant food in evening was top notch.
Wonderful wildlife sounds from the river behind our room. We saw a lovely selection of birds and enjoyed hanging out in the hammocks and hanging chairs. We had space to cook in our apartment and there was lots of to entertain us like ping pong tables and pool table. A lot of the items were quite old but an interesting place to stay with lots of space.
Wonderful, friendly, helpful staff. Several warm pools for soaking and sipping a cocktail. Slides into one pool and the river. Big room with nice terrace (with outdoor bed and hammock, plus jacuzzi that we didn’t try. Set perfectly into the rainforest, with monkeys, birds, amazing wildlife. A wonderful end to a wonderful trip to Costa Rica.
I was here on my way to La Fortuna. I found the lodge in the middle of the rainforest exceptional and it was a very nice experience.
The little house for me alone (3 beds) was very spacious with a great balcony with a hammock.
It was exciting that there was no wall in the direction of the slope, only a mosquito net. You felt like you were right in the jungle.
Close to tourist attractions, several within walking distance or short uber ride, private cabin with balcony and view of Arenal. Two large double beds. Excellent restaurant for evening meal. Lots of birds and wildlife nearby, and thermal springs. Hot shower, small swimming pool near cabins.
We loved our 3 nights stay in one of the bungalows! It was really spacious, great AC, nice veranda, beautifully embedded in lush green! The bed and pillows very comfortable. Hot shower. The room was perfectly cleaned and we got new towels and soap every day. Staff was very friendly and helpful with everything, even got help with ordering food and delivery from town. Breakfast very well cooked. We didn’t use the pool but looked nice. We would love to come back if we ever return to La Fortuna!
