We were in total ‘awe’ when we entered. The way they dome is organised is great, you have a big bathroom and kitchen, while you can enjoy all of the view out of your bed. The bed was out of this world, haven’t slept as well during our whole trip then there. It was very clean and very well equipped! The outdoor bath was perfect under the sky full of stars. The hosts are wonderful, when you need something they will fix it for you in a minute. It was my birthday during our stay and they decorated the dome with balloons and gave Costa Rican donuts as a gift 🥰 Couldn’t have celebrated my birthday anyplace better!

The hosts were super nice, friendly and accommodating. Wilma stayed in my cabin to look after my pets one night so that I could go kayaking and see the bioluminescence in the harbor. You cannot beat this kind of customer care! Franco buit me a bonfire twice during my stay. You just have to ask and Wilma and Frano will do their best to accommodate you.The site itself is super quiet. I only had to look up to see monkeys, parrots and a great variety of birds. The kitchen was well equiped. I loved every minute of my stay there. Going to the beach was an adventure and my dogs loved the walk there. They struggled a bit crossing the river over a suspended log, but that was part of the adventure:) I only want to add that this is rough camping, simple and secluded. If this is what you are looking for, you will be in heaven.

The place is amazing: you'll spend your days and nights surrounded by the jungle and the view is stunning. It is also not far from the beaches and restaurants... by car or quad. The host is extremely nice, available and helpful! Also, the bedding is very comfortable. I loved it and would recommend the place to everyone!

Pláž Playa Colorada je 2,4 km daleko.... The place is very special. Private place...located in natural wonderland of green, trees, flowers and private trail to Drake river. Can go for swim in your own river. The owner helped us and took care of us 24/7. The couple taking care of place on site were sweet and took care of our needs including breakfast at 5 am since we had tour of park at 6 am, laundry and more. Great breakfast, generous menu with many options!

Beautiful people and the ultimate jungle experience with the comfort you need. What an amazing place and what an awesome owner who cares so much about all the nature and animals around. He is very knowledgeable and when we did the night tour with him (which is awesome) we learned so much about the forest, flora and fauna and spotted many animals. Also the volunteers were so nice and welcoming. There's a great and very cozy chill out area and communal kitchen. Really great vibes. It is a few kilometres away from the town but easy to request a taxi there and you really just are in the middle of the jungle. Also.... The food cooked there is definitely the best in the area of Drake bay. Only stayed 2 nights which felt too short but so happy that we went. The walk to the waterfall is beautiful, here you are able to spend time in the jungle without a guide.. We will be back Elmer, Thank you!!!! ❤️

Wilma and Franco ensured at all time that my family had all the comfort we needed and had a lot of equipment for out baby, even toys for our older child. The location in the jungle is great as well as the walk to the beach.

The staff are all super friendly and helpful and it’s one of the cleanest hostels I‘ve seen in all of Costa Rica. The bathroom is painted in jungle scenes and made me happy every time I entered . The breakfast is so big and varied that imI almost couldn’t eat it all. They can organise tours for you and you get a discount if you stay at the hostel . There are supermarkets nearby and I cooked my own dinner in the kitchen. It was an absolute delight to stay at Pirate Drake bay hostel.
