Developed in Japan, these cheap “pod” hotels are a novelty for any traveler. With rows of small single bed enclosed capsules, accommodations are basic and intended to be overnight. There's separate storage for luggage and gender-separate communal bathrooms. Some capsule hotels also have a sentō – a Japanese bath house, usually for male guests only.

The local shops are 5 minutes walk from the resort. You can get food and drink there a lot cheaper, if on a budget, plus massages. The pool was nice with a lot of sun beds under shade. The resort was on the beach as well. A bit of a walk to the main area but there is a lot on the way so it doesn't feel long at all.
