Great staff, really accomodating and nice. Food was great, breakfast was ok. Good spot right in front of the beach and right next to a supermarket. Kitchen and apartment has everything you need. Daily cleaning was good too

The location was very peaceful and pretty. You definitely need a car if you're staying here but it is well worth it. The host is super helpful and sweet. Loved the coatis and the monkeys! Swimming pools, as everything else, were kept clean and pretty. The paths going around the place are beautiful. The breakfast was good, all the fruit was lovely, well worth the price.
The room had everything we could have needed. No bug problems, some ants are to be expected.

It was an easy walk to the beach. There were a number of good restaurants in Tambor many within walking distance.;we had a car so could drive to other beaches in the area such as Montezuma. Tambor proved to be a good base for exploring.
This all-inclusive resort with outdoor swimming pool is located on Playa Tambor volcanic sand beach. It offers spectacular views of Bahía Ballena Bay on one side and lush hills on the other.

Location is great, clean comfortable room, food wasn't much of the selection unless you ready to queue up at 6:30am to book in to restaurant which is not guaranteed, friendly and helpful staff

There's a restaurant connected to the hotel. I like how quiet it was, I like that there's a terrace going around the whole hotel and that you can lie in the hammock, hear the river and look out on the ocean.
Offering an outdoor swimming pool and a garden, Hotel El Jardin is located in Montezuma town centre and less than 100 meters from the beach. WiFi is available in public areas and is free of charge.

Wonderful stay at this beautiful establishment. Gabriel was super friendly and helpful and we got a free room upgrade. That was so kind and the room itself was stunning, nice views, nice bed and clean. There is no breakfast but since there is a fridge in your room you can arrange for instance yoghurts. The pool is also very refreshing. Would recommend fully!

Our second stay at this hotel, and both visits we extended our stay by two extra days. A truly fantastic hotel, exceptional breakfast, and wonderful staff, especially the lovely young Texan fellow, who served breakfasts ( so sorry we forgot your name) Mike the owner was always kind, considerate, and made our second visit here, very welcoming. ope to visit again one day

Excellent service from the staff.
Excellent service from the staff. Cabins were really nice, although dark as they are made of local wood. No plastic anywhere. Good kitchen facilities.
Lacked a good light anywhere to read under, other than that, our stay was most pleasant.
Henry’s pizza, and the bar next door, just 100m along the road, had excellent food and drinks as well. There is a well stocked mini super 50m further to stock up on snacks and food if you use the kitchen in the cabin. All in all, a most pleasant stay.

Playa Tambor is a sleepy little village, very quiet.
Playa Tambor is a sleepy little village, very quiet. The beach itself is very nice, especially when the tide is out, there are large sand flats. There is a small resort just off the beach called the Tambor Tropical resort which we used for drinks and lunch, very nice, all outdoor tables and bar, great staff.
We spent one day at Santa Theresa beach, about 45 minute drive away. Fantastic beach, busy beach town, great if you want to watch the surfers, go for a beautiful long walk or lounge around on the beach. Not that great for actual swimming since it is quite flat, you need to walk out a long way to get to your waist. We didn't eat while there so I can't comment on restaurants except to say there where lots of them.
We found the whole area beautiful and intend to visit again.

The hotel is very well looked after and clean.
The hotel is very well looked after and clean. Food was good not great but no complaints. Drinks were simple but adequate No real mojito here. Very little English speaking workers and was frustrating. I personally would not recommend the hotel unless you spoke Spanish. The hotel is shooting themselves in the foot by not attracting guests I would not recommend the hotel to family and friends for that reason and we heard that from many English guests
The Disco at night had no one in it and the music blasted so load with the base boom boom boom till 3 am
Wrong music for the majority of your travellers and started at 11 pm to late for many
Staff was friendly and wanted to help just that language barrier
When you went out to eat any place on the property the staff are oblivious if you require more coffee or water or wine. You have to flag them down

Small village, isolated - at the bottom of the peninsula. Road to get there is slow and curvy (suggest only driving during daylight, if you are driving a rental). Great restaurants and has a local grocery store. ATM about 5min away, or a full bank / ATM about 20min drive (Cobano town).

Tambor is a strange place, dominated by a big all-inclusive resort hotel and a massive golf community development, which together make the beach access very limited, unfortunate for anyone who doesn't stay or live at either place. There are not a lot of restaurants or a real centre to Tambor and we ended up going to Cobano for shopping and dining and spent a great day in Montezuma, where we would go back to in the future.

Everything. The site is like paradise on earth. The staff, mainly Thomas was exceptionally helpful and so friendly and caring with a huge smile and a great attitude. The breakfast is generous and so refined with a great French touch. We also had the luxury to enjoy a great hot shower, which seems to nlbe quite rare in CR. A great hotel that I strongly recommend.
Is possible to see many animals from the Hotel, monkeys, squirrels, iguanas, macaws....
We have the oportunity to have dinner in El Rancho and William was a really good waiter, he served and advised us perfectly. The food was really good.
The rooms are really big and AC works fine.
Entertainment and activitys are really cool.
That hotel is amazing! It combines luxury and nature in a small village! We had a great stay here. Almost everything was perfect to relaxe on our last days of our Costa Rica vacation. The rooms, the pool area, the bar/restaurant (simple but cheap), the location, cleaning service: all was perfect.
