Lovely stylish hotel about 15 mins from the old town. The staff were friendly and welcoming . The room was exceptionally clean and modern and a substantial breakfast was provided each morning ( lots of baked Greek goodies !!) There was a nice swimming pool , even though it was a bit too cold to try it when we were there.
The road up from town was a bit dark at night with an uneven path but taxis are plentiful and cheap.

Historic and full of character, centrally located in Rethymno old town, but hidden away down some back lanes, away from the hustle and bustle. Lots of places to eat and things to see nearby. The hotel was very clean. Needed a little bit of an upgrade as the decor was a little tired. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful.. A good selection of hot and cold food. All well prepared and presented. Serving staff and reception staff pleasant and helpful.

The breakfast was incredible. There was so much choice, and the food was all really high quality. Moreover, the staff are all so polite, helpful and well-trained (some of the nicest hotel staff we've ever experienced). We were there for the hotel's last week of operation at the end of its 2024 season, so there was no dinner buffet. Instead, there was a set menu (but we could still order as much as we'd like from this), but this was still great quality. Our only wish would have been for it to include a few more traditional Greek dishes.
The room was great. We were in a Verdant Room (slightly bigger than their standard rooms). We would thoroughly recommend it. The bed was super comfy and spacious, and the bathroom was great, too. The only thing that could improve it would be more hooks from which to hang clothes.
The pools are amazing. We went in November, so it was a bit too chilly to swim in the outdoor pools, but the indoor pool was great - warm and relaxing but still big enough to do lengths. The gym was good - for anyone who knows how to be creative with their resistance training, the cable multi-gym they have still allows you to do a lot (this is coming from someone who has spent 10+ years working in the health & fitness space).
The location is also great, as the hotel itself is very close to Rethymno (if you like walking, it takes about 40 minutes to get to the Old Town). If not, it's a 10-15 minute drive.
Overall, it's a fantastic 5* hotel that we would recommend to anyone wanting to experience Crete in a bit of luxury. We will definitely return when we next visit Crete (which we will do, as there is so much to see!)

The Venetian fort and old harbour, plus the old town, are highlights for a visit. We certainly recommend a couple of days Rethymnon for anyone who likes to visit towns while on holiday. It has a good choice of restaurants and bars, particularly in the old town and around the Venetian Harbour. If you like fish and seafood, I recommend Achinos restaurant but be aware that chosing your own, fresh-caught fish, for them to prepare for you, is quite costly. In summary, Rethymnon is ideal for a city visit and for those who enjoy a good choice of restaurants and bars. Probably best to visit in spring or late autumn.

Surprisingly in the end October the Rethymno Old town was very lovely to walk around and full of life. Our beloved places to eat were restaurant Thymari, taverna Vatania and for lunch mini grill Sofia. It is nice walk-able city with long promenade along the seaside, but if needed taxis are everywhere available.

The maze of little streets in the Old Town with buzzy restaurants, plentiful bars and independent shops. The business owners were very friendly. Avoid eating directly in the Venetian port as although picturesque the restaurants are expensive and after eating there and being charged 80 euros for 'the fish of the day' locals such as taxi drivers and told us that restaurants there bump up the prices for gullible tourists.

Loved walking around the old town and finding surprises.
Loved walking around the old town and finding surprises. We took the mini train tour which was great. Didn’t have time to visit the beach and missed visiting the church on the cliff. Saw it from the train though. Definitely would recommend 3-4 nights stay.

Delightful family run hotel who were very friendly and attentive. Excellent rooms. The bedroom came with one full double (not two singles pushed together). Separate very large day room with two sofas, washbasin, fridge. Two veranda/balcony areas. Beach just across road. Sunbeds on the beach by others but free as long as you bought a drink from their bar, which was in front of the hotel but run by others.
Small pool but very fit for purpose.
We had the breakfast which was a la carte, not buffet, but perfect for our needs.
Mythos Suites is an extraordinary hotel on an extraordinary island. It is situated in the centre of the old town, yet a quiet place. The old port, the beaches and most of the restaurants are within walking distance. They have really nice rooms , arranged around a beautiful courtyard with pool.
But above all you will hardly find a hotel with a more warmhearted charming and cosy atmosphere. Irini, the owner, is a very charming and friendly young lady who, together with her team, offers real hospitality and perfect service.
Home from home. Pepi is a lovely hotel. The courtyard is a tranquil paradise. Relaxation at its best sunbathing amongst palm trees. The poached eggs at breakfast are amazing and the staff are really friendly.
The location is great. The old town is very charming and there are lots of tavernas and places to eat nearby.
You can explore as much or as little of Crete as you like from here and you will love it.
The staff were amazing Very accommodating and friendly. I was unfortunately struck down with a Cardiac arrest on the first night there and taken into hospital. All of the staff looked after Mary, my wife and supported her whilst I was away from her. The property is wonderfully situated. It is across a road from one of best beaches in Crete and within a 20 min walk to the old town.
Very nice apartment, clean with very confortable beds. Amazing view in front of the sea. The welcome was very warm with for instance a bottle of wine. We were upgraded
for a better experience.
The beach is well equipped with sunbeds available. 20 minutes walk to the old town. The restaurant Nostos below is delicious, one of our best in Crete.
Highly recommended
