I loved the location and being a ski in/ski out hotel. Also a short walk to many restaurants. No complaints at all and I’d stay there again.
Centrally located in Hirafu's Upper Village, boutique hotel Chalet Ivy Hirafu, Niseko offers natural hot spring baths and delicately prepared cuisine.

The property was perfectly located. What made it stand out was the staff. Caroline at the front desk was very attentive and solved a problem I had, Alec in the ski rental area was very helpful, the Public Onsen was very clean and I had the best massage while there.
Definitely would recomend.!
Many thanks to a great staff!

Loved that the kitchen was pre-stocked with everything we needed to make our first morning breakfast! I didn't realize this when I booked and pleasantly surprised. The beds were firm and very comfortable + 2 pillows per person, a luxury in Japan!

The hotel is very new - it does not even appear yet on some Google Maps renditions and address searches. The facility is top notch in terms of the quality of the overall finishing, cleanliness and proximity to the ski slopes. The access to the ski resorts is excellent: there is a ski equipment locker room where one can store ski equipment, get changed for snow sports and access the slopes directly from there (and it can be reached again easily by skiing in from the slopes). The hotel has good overall facilities. There are two good restaurants at the hotel (Italian and Japanese - Sukiyaki/Shabu Shabu).

Kutchan town is not the ski resort.
Kutchan town is not the ski resort. You have to take a 15-30 mins bus or taxi to nearby Hirafu, Hanazono, Niseko Village or Annupuri resort, which makes up the "Niseko United" ski resort.
However, the town is a gateway. A few restaurants is around but they are a bit spread out. There's 2 tasty BBQ restaurant 10 minutes walk away.
The Kutchan train station is the gateway to/from Otaru and Sapporo. However, the train is a drag. An 1+ hour plus to Otaru and total 2 hours to Sapporo. Same for bus.
Public transportation is lacking at night time. Check schedule or prebook taxi is recommended during night hours.

Kutchan is a lovely city with friendly locals and widespread English proficiency, making communication easy. There are plenty of options for renting or purchasing snowboard gear, which is convenient for enthusiasts. Overall, I will definitely return to Kutchan.

It was such a pleasure staying at this comfortable hotel with all its mod con conveniences. We loved that it had a gym, a restaurant, great ski room, multiple kitchens on each floor, large fridge in the rooms & free buses every few minutes to take you up to the slopes. There’s also a 7/11 within a 5 minute walk. The staff are very friendly, speak excellent English and will assist you in any thing you need.
Perfect location for access to the slopes and evening wander around Hirafu. Breakfast was amazing, staff super friendly and helpful, massive boot room and great value for money. We happily embraced the Japanese style room and Onsen for bathing. A great find amongst a lot of very expensive hotels. Will be first on our list if we manage to return to Niseko.
Comparing to other places in Kutchan and Niseko, this place is very good value for money. The pods are big, not a traditional capsule hotel style bunk. The shared bathroom and onsen was clean. There is a lawson next door for snacks.
great hotel in a great location. It is just 5 minutes walk to the lifts and hotel shuttle is always available to take you there with the gear. The room was spacious with the great view. Enjoyed the onsen- super relaxing.
