Wonderful experience staying underground. Hotel was nicely organized and decorated for underground living. Glad the walls and ceiling weren’t covered up to get the true experience of rock walls. Highly recommend a try, you won’t feel claustrophobic because of large hallways and rooms with small kitchenettes.
Located just 66 feet from the coach terminal and Coober Pedy's main street, Mud Hut Motel offers free unlimited WiFi and comfortable accommodations with a flat-screen TV with an in-built media player....

We lived the underground aspect. Property also had a great museum, bar, & pool. But since we brought the rain with us ...no need for pool. The walls of the room...shedded dirt on the couch & bed. I woke up to a gritty bed. Light switches to far from bed. Needs plugs
These hotels offer something unique in terms of design and are usually set in a trendy, urban part of town. Blending high standards with a homey vibe, boutique hotels are more intimate than your average hotel.
The room was really lovely, far exceeding our expectations for the price. There were so many nice touches not normally included in rooms in the price range we can afford. The room was spotlessly clean throughout & everything was very classy. This was the nicest place we have ever stayed and we will be coming back in the future. It was the last night of our holiday and we could not have hoped for a better end to a really good trip.
Everything. We loved that so much heart and soul by the owners went into the creation of these gorgeous dug out units. From building it to designing and making the furniture, to the little quality touches like the beautiful toiletries and Sheridan sheets, to a laundry service and the fabulous outdoor fire pit and more.
Nice, smart, clean and comfortable accommodation, the bed was comfy, room facilities great, separate bedroom and lovely new bathroom. Very well planned out, the design of the accommodation/rooms.
Booked last minute as my usual home stay was booked out. Amazing dug out house design with a lot of potential to utilise the charm.
Positives: nice rain shower, cool retro couch, lovely out-of-town spot.
