Set in the heart of the Hunter Valley wine region, Thistle Hill Guesthouse - walk to many wineries and restaurants offers a peaceful escape from the city.

Changed a lot since we first stayed. There was no staff around the entire weekend, they no longer host the breakfasts in the dining room, the cottage feels very dated compared to the rooms in the main house, the sealing on the nightlight in the bathroom wasn’t working and mozzies and cobwebs everywhere inside the house.

    The one bed villa we stayed in is perfect. Super clean. Well designed use of space. Perfect for two. Lovely views. Great kitchen. They are very generous with the breakfast provisions. The staff were very responsive to any questions and provided some wonderful local recommendations. I would definitely stay here again. It’s very good value.

    We loved everything about the property! We had a luxury 3 nights in a gorgeous 1 bedroom villa, which was spotlessly clean and stocked with everything we could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Views from our balcony were absolutely stunning. Pool is overlooking mountains. The bathroom has really lovely smelling toiletries and soft fluffy towels. We had a huge comfortable bed. It was actually really hard to leave this place when it was time to come home. Would definitely stay here again.

    Hermitage Lodge more than exceeded our expectations. The fit out of the rooms was stunning, the crockery was gorgeous and the interior design was amazing. The view of the little vineyard is such a nice touch. The team here was so lovely and accomodating! We had a later check in and the reception turned on our lights and heating ahead of time so we came into a cosy space which was exactly what we needed at 8pm. Communication from the lodging was perfect and more than greatly appreciated.

    Loved absolutely everything about our stay at Thistle Hill and could not rate it high enough. From the beautiful grounds, gorgeous boutique room with those little bits of luxury touches, lovely breakfast, amazing staff to those little extras like the complementary cheese platter in our room on arrival and the afternoon teas delivered each day. Have stayed at many hotels in the Hunter and this one rates well above all the rest and now I probably would not stay anywhere else. Looking forward to our next visit.

    A beautiful boutique hotel in an excellent location so close to all the vineyards. Stunning setting and immaculate well manicured gardens. What sets this hotel apart from others is the interior design; really beautiful contemporary finishes mixed with federation style foundations. If you’re after a relaxing escape this is it.
