CanadaThe people running this lodge are extremely friendly and helpful. They were willing to put up with my rudimentary Spanish, but actually, the owner speaks fluent English. The older lady who ran the kitchen while we were there, is adorable. The decoration of the main parts of the lodge is beautiful. Our room had a little outside sitting area overlooking Otavalo.
When we returned in the evening, the fireplace was lit, and we spent a bit of time there, enjoying the ambiance of the common room.

All the printed materials are in Spanish and English if you need it. The rooms and common areas feature art from local artisans that is for sale. The bed was comfortable and had lots of Blankets for cold nights. Space heaters are also available. But we liked this small hotel so much that we stayed for several days instead of one night. Lovely clean rooms, superbly equipped kitchen with all utilities, large veranda with beautiful views of the city and mountains. The room was huge and the beds were extremely comfortable- we had the best sleep we’ve had in a long time! The architecture is gorgeous, the photos just don’t do it justice! The guesthouse has everything you need for a comfortable short or longer term stay, including a well equipped kitchen if you would like to do some cooking. The host was very friendly and helpful.
