A 5-minute walk from Ayr seafront and town center, the bright, modern Hotel Kylestrome has refurbished bedrooms and a modern dining room serving local produce, seafood and steaks.

The room itself was comfortable but its tired and old with needing repairs to walls and doors. The walls are paper thin so you can hear your guest neighbours talk sneeze cough alarm going off etc and the room doors are loud to open close and shake the room a bit. Our neighbours all got up at 5- 5:30 am in the dark with the alarms playing and Nespresso buzzing. Otherwise The beds were comfortable , and everything worked in the bathroom.

The friendly Park Hotel offers free Wi-Fi and free parking, next to Kilmarnock F.C Rugby Park stadium. Kilmarnock Rail Station is less than 1 mile away.

The staff are all great. You feel welcome. The breakfast is tasty and served fresh to your table. The rooms are very dated and a bit psychedelic. However, they are well maintained , quite large and very clean.

We actually got an upgrade on arrival, originally booked Courthouse rooms, we stayed in the main hotel. It is a beautiful building and the interior design is so respectful of the age of the property. Our room was large and spacious and met all our requirements. We had dinner on the first night really good menu with plenty of choice. Breakfast the first morning was table service and buffet the second due to more guests in the hotel.

The views are amazing and with a short walk to the beach the location was too. The apartment looks like it's been done by an interior designer. We were very impressed.

Lovely home in great location. It is beautifully designed and has all the facilities you would need when staying in an apartment. Very clean interior. Loved staying here and having everything on your doorstep...bars, restaurants, supermarkets and easy to park nearby- as advised by the hosts. Easy and clear instructions on how to check in and check out. Would definitely stay again if back in the area. Thank you, Iain.

Lovely and friendly place to stay. Jan and Kirsty could not have been more friendly and welcoming. The premises are immaculate and so well presented. Our room , room 5 , was beautiful and really well furnished, equipped and comfortable. The bathroom was really special and so well designed. Home made shortbread biscuits and a proper coffee machine are lovely touches. Breakfast was all freshly cooked and of top quality...served so cheerfully by Jan! Most definitely recommend highly Even Harris , the Golden Retriever was so friendly.

We received such a lovely warm welcome from the owner. Our room was just superb - immaculately clean, very stylish and comfortable with stunning sea views. Breakfasts were freshly cooked, generous and absolutely delicious. The owner, Jan, was the perfect host and is a lovely, warm hearted person (with a great sense of humour!). And the homemade shortbread is the best ever.

I’ve stayed in countless 5 star & boutique hotels, but they could all learn the meaning of ‘immaculate rooms’ & ‘great service’ from the Retreat at The Knowe Auchincruive Estate! Perfect venue & location for walks in the country or along the coast - my stay wasn’t long enough! Annie the host, was absolutely lovely & highly knowledgeable about the Ayrshire area! She couldn’t do enough, and the breakfast was fab! I will definitely return!
