The Queen at Chester - Beautifully connected – Since 1860 With new jewels in our crown following a sparkling new £5millon refurbishment to public areas, Queen bedrooms and installed air conditioning.

The reception staff were really friendly and acknowledged the note I left about this being a surprise for the Wife, celebrating our wedding anniversary.

In the heart of Chester, minutes from the River Dee, Oddfellows features a stylish bar and a modern restaurant, along with boutique-style rooms. There is free Wi-Fi throughout.

The hotel was incredibly well placed being within a very short walk of the city centre, river and walls but yet was very quiet (may be different in season as our room overlooked the garden). It was a bit of an initial shock that the loo could be seen from the bed but in fact don't worry, it is all part of a clever design where the ensuite shower door acts as the main door - as I said, very clever. Continental breakfast only but don't judge - the variety of cerials, nuts,, fruits, meats, cheeses, salmon, bread, pancakes and crumpets was astounding. Parking is just round the corner in an APCOA park but at a well reduced rate. All in all exceptional value for money.

Absolutely loved the house. Smelt fresh and clean from the second we walked in and the interior design is lovely. Perfect distance from Chester city centre and would absolutely return here. Thank you!

The property was beautiful, comfortable, lovely interior design lots of quirks which we liked. The bath was amazing, the bed was really comfortable and all the appliances furnishing were of a high standard. The staff are very responsive and helpful. We heard the church chime at 7am and 8am Sunday morning which was lovely to hear.

Hotel is quirky, I've visited there a few times previously, but never stayed. My room was stunning, it's layout was so different to the norm. They must have had a great architect and interior designer. It was also very comfortable, with a round bed, I wish I had had all the time in the world to be able to have a sleep in.
