On the edge of The Peak District, this modern, boutique hotel boasts stylish rooms with LED TVs and countryside views.

Breakfast-good-continentual limited. The room was very warm but cosy. When we sat outside on the first day, beetles were everywhere, including in my drink. The glass around the external seating area needed cleaning, and the milk left in my fridge was going off. The bed was comfortable, and the location was fabulous. The staff was professional, and they looked great in uniform.

The property met all our expectations. A grand old house which looked fantastic as we approached. Inside was equally as nice. We had a great room with a garden view which also was very good. The service from the staff was professional and friendly and breakfast was excellent in the conservatory.

Customer service was some of the best I have experienced. I was seen to my room and told everything I needed to know. I was served breakfast at 6.30am as I had an early start and the chef was very accommodating and the food was fantastic. The rooms are clean, well designed and the fresh scone with jam and cream was a lovely touch. The rooms are modern and comfortable and great value for money.

Stunning boutique hotel, no expense spared on finishes and furnishings. The attached restaurant/pub is also stunning.

The hotel - the part we stayed in - is modern, stylish, but very poorly designed. The entrance is in the 'wrong' place. The bar is out of sight and behind locked doors. The breakfasts were excellent, as were the staff in the dining room.

This gem of a find ticked every box spectacularly. The entrance made the first impression with stunning decorations. The pub is cosy (also beautifully decorated) with a great atmosphere. Friendly, efficient staff and delicious food: for dinner and breakfast. Bedroom was gorgeous: lovely quirky decor and a generous bathroom with lots of thoughtful extras. Kudos to management and team who clearly work extremely hard to maintain an exceptionally high standard. Probably the best stay we've had through Booking.com and we've had a lot!
