Just 1 mile from Durham Rail Station and city center, the Radisson Blu Durham has fantastic views of Durham Cathedral. It offers stylish rooms, free WiFi, a restaurant, bar and modern health club.

I can't fault the staff, all were friendly and helpful and working efficiently. We had a couple of requests (extra blanket, softer pillows) which were quickly accommodated. Staff were also very attentive in the restaurant during dinner. There was a little Easter egg for my daughter in the room, which was a lovely touch. The room was very comfortable, the windows also seem to stop quite a bit of the noise; it was the best sleep we had in a hotel so far (we don't sleep that great away from home so that's saying something). I personally really enjoyed the selection of teas in the room, while my daughter loved the water and ice station that's located on each floor. Breakfast was fantastic! I almost wanted to sample one of each of their offerings but I can't eat that much. And the staff worked tirelessly at replenishing the buffet as needed.

OYO The Townhouse is set in a Grade II-Listed Georgian town house, offering individually themed rooms in Durham’s charming Old Elvet area.

It's lovely, so impressed. The staff are great, cheerful, and welcoming, good food, well made, and a small but perfectly formed bar. The rooms are comfortable, warm and beautifully designed spaces, we stayed in The Cruise, furnished with rather expensive yachting inspired furniture designs. The bath is the deepest one I've ever seen, and the shower, once I found out how to turn it on, was fantastic.

lovely room, comfortable bed, great bathroom - loved the complimentary jellybeans!! Decor/interior design was also beautiful throughout the entire property. Location was very convenient too, as we were only staying one night and needed to be relatively close to the train station

We stayed in ‘The Bashing Bishop’ apartment in the ground floor of The Funky Monk. The room was immaculate and very stylish. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped for a one night stay. The hot tub and sauna garden was lovely. The gold bath was great and the complementary Elemis toiletries smelt gorgeous. The customer service from the staff was fantastic.
