Close House, a property with a bar, is located in Heddon on the Wall, 15 km from MetroCentre, 16 km from Theatre Royal, as well as 17 km from St James' Park.

The cooked breakfast I had was good. Although it appeared small in quantity this was not actually the case as the quantities were just right and well presented. The black pudding in particular was a quality product and not some mass produced attempt. Both coffee and orange juice also good.

The DoubleTree by Hilton is a classic hotel, loved for years by visitors to Newcastle.

The room was tiny. No complimentary water or bathroom products. Poor coffee and tea facilities. Given a hot cookie on arrival was strange especially late at night.

Lovely big room, fantastic bath and shower. Marvellous location, helpful, friendly, welcoming staff. Food was very well and freshly prepared, even breakfast, so that the scrambled egg wasn't 20 minutes old....

Booked at last minute to attend a family gathering. within minutes i'd had a phone call to confirm booking and check bed type requirements. Our stay was short but lovely. The room was fantastic, everything you could need, lovely toiletries and a proper kettle with supplies. Had to leave very early morning but breakfast was available from 07:30 there was plenty of tea/coffee and toast together with good breakfast choices.

Stunning property with very comfortable beds and sofa. My son enjoyed using Netflix and we both enjoyed the coffee table books. Lovely selection of food to make breakfast and a packed lunch . Did not want to leave . The massive windows in the living room and bedroom make you feel really close to nature while being cosy indoors.

The reception staff were lovely and very helpful. Our room was beautiful and clean. Gorgeous grounds, well maintained. very picturesque at this time of year. Comfortable bed and delicious breakfast. We had also had a birthday treat put in our room or arrival (without request) which was a really lovely touch!!
