It was charming and clean; it was historic, yet easy to get around. The recent updates are lovely!
These hotels offer something unique in terms of design and are usually set in a trendy, urban part of town. Blending high standards with a homey vibe, boutique hotels are more intimate than your average hotel.
Amazing customer service - Dave the owner makes a point to speak with every guest at each meal time, on arrival and departure. Really tasty food that is good value, comfortable room, a drying room and a map room for walkers and riders. Facilities for bikers are way beyond “biker friendly” - this is biker heaven. Truly a hotel designed by bikers for bikers, but others will also find it a great stay.
The hotel has recently been renovated and it’s absolutely gorgeous. Immaculate, tasteful and lovely place to stay. The breakfast was excellent and staff all very lovely and helpful. Highly recommend to anyone needing a place to stay in the Borders.
Gorgeous house, spacious room, very comfortable beds, lovely view and location - close to facilities in Moffat and the main road. Staff very welcoming and accommodating.
The history & character of the Hotel is fascinating - the Smith family who own & run the Buccleuch offer so much more than any other Hotel I have ever stayed in (I’ve stayed in dozens for my work).
The newly refurbished rooms have been professionally designed & are stylish, practical & eco sustainable with high quality ‘spec’.
