Lovely and peaceful, with smart but casual feel. This made it very relaxing. The staff were very warm and friendly also very knowledgeable! The art collection is extensive and was fascinating, not expected which we really enjoyed. The wine of course was exceptional, we are not wine connoisseurs, and everything recommended was amazing, with a great range of prices. The food was incredible, everything is made there, even the burger buns! We made full use of the spa which was mostly empty - and the treatments were wonderful.

Everything was good quality. The beds were extremely comfortable. Staff were friendly and very accommodating. We arrived early and were even able to access our rooms immediately on arrival which was much appreciated. Plenty of parking. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again if in the area.

These hotels offer something a little different in the way of design and usually sit in a trendy, urban part of town. More intimate than your average hotel, they offer high standards with a homely vibe.
Very cosy, quirky lovely clean room with own space to sit out...room 9.
Sunday roast and breakfast were delicious and plentiful. Staff very friendly and pub was really nice with great design features.
Lovely decor, friendly staff, good food, nice personalised touches, boutique luxury feel. The pantries with complimentary drinks and snacks are a very nice service.
We had a Deluxe room which was lovely, well designed, warm and spotless. Pretty pheasant themed wallpaper and a super comfy bed. A fabulous shower room with high quality products. The Nespresso machine, sloe gin and water in glass bottles as well as mini glass bottels of milk from reception were nice additional touches.
Well presented and designed. Clean. Friendly staff. Best breakfast ever (and I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels!), and they served until 11am! Sloe gin in the room as a welcome was a lovely surprise too. And to see that there was obviously care being taken around the eco footprint of the goods and foods on offer.
A lovely find - very nicely designed rooms in an old pub that has been updated and extended. A midweek stay so quiet and very pleasant. Not only were the rooms beautifully decorated but they had lots of thoughtful touches of luxury including a radio, great coffee making facilities, and a Dyson fan. Our downstairs room also had a small outdoor patio. Breakfast the next morning was pleasant in the conservatory area.
The 1772 bistro food was exceptional - highly recommend eating on site - better than other Relais properties and even 1 star Michelin
Appreciate v much the inclusion of breakfast in the room rates
Staff were all lovely & very obliging
We didn’t try the hydro pool but it looked great
Design: great design hotel with lovely common spaces
Beds were really comfortable
The provided toiletries were lovely
