This unique residence is a modern reworking of the Great Western Hotel, built in 1844 and reputed to be the oldest surviving railway hotel in the world.

Within Forbury Gardens, this luxury 5-star hotel offers a fine dining restaurant and a cocktail bar. Reading Rail Station is a 5-minute walk away.

Great hotel, highly recommended. Entrance needs a ramp for luggage and probably more lights on the hotel itself as you can see much of it at night. There is only one elevator which has two doors. One for the guests to the rooms and the other to the kitchen and service areas. Always smells like food. Suggest to add a refresher to kill the food smell.

The Elephant Hotel is located in the charming village of Pangbourne, beside the River Thames. Minutes from the M4, it is convenient for Reading, Newbury and Oxford.

Near the Thames path. Near restaurants and shops. Just on a main road. It was clean and nice. But the prices was just in line with that.

The Elvetham is a historic 19th-century Victorian Mansion built upon the remains of a Tudor Manor and set within 35 acres of gardens.

The stay was very enjoyable and we had a very nice impression of the hotel: the room, breakfast, walks in a beautiful area around the hotel.

Pentahotel in Reading is an excellent choice for anyone visiting the area. Its central location makes it perfect for exploring the city, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, ensuring a warm welcome. The hotel boasts a great atmosphere, combining a trendy, modern vibe with comfort. The rooms are stylishly designed and well-equipped, providing a very pleasant stay. One of the highlights of my stay was the great breakfast, which featured a selection of high-quality ingredients and a large variety of options to choose from.

the room was lovely and so well done interior wise, the bed was insanely comfortable too. only stayed one night but it was honestly lovely. did not expect to find a place like this in reading! taking interior design trips from the room haha. staff were all super helpful, if I ever have a reason to come back to reading I’d definitely only stay here, might have to find an excuse. (also the lighting is unreal i took so many selfies 😂)
