Their breakfasts alone were worth the trip to Achill Island and they are also very knowledgeable about the island and happy to advise guests on the best ways to enjoy it. Deirdre and Tommy were very helpful and accommodating hosts and it was handy to have information in the room (menus for local restaurants etc., walking maps). We stayed two nights and would have loved to stay more if we had the chance! I would recommend 'The Currach' for breakfast in the village nearby (as breakfast not available in the house) - excellent pancakes and lovely staff. Deirdre was a wonderful host, so friendly, welcoming and full of knowledge about the island. Great bathroom and shower facilities - particularly liked the shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in sustainable bottles. The snacks and in-room amenties were wonderful. We were given a very warm welcome with lovely touches such as delicious icecream on arrival. The views from here are breathtaking and the peace & tranquility of Keel is superb. The breakfast is to die for the choice taste freshness ten out of ten. I would return to Frendale if I’m ever lucky enough to visit Achill again. Rooms were also lovely and warm, could alter heat as desired.
